Australia Day is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, the day commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788, the unfurling of the British flag at Sydney Cove and the proclamation of British sovereignty over the eastern seaboard of Australia

It's also an awesome day to drink a copious amount of beer at your mates place as you enjoy a BBQ and the warm weather.

Yea, seriously. It's NOT cool.

BTW, winter--we get it already, you're all cold and stuff. The snow was nice, but let's push ahead to spring.

I would actually have BBQs now in Charlotte then during the summer. Summer time here gets to warm and humid. The best time to do it during the winter is after lunch and before dinner time. Just make sure everyone is in the vicinity of the grill to get some of that heat. Spring time in Charlotte is the best.

I use my grill year round. Cold doesn't stop me and of course I prefer it that way as many of you know. In fact, I'm heading to the store after work for some buns/tomatoes for my hot dogs and burgers. :D Going to be some good eating tonight. Hopefully followed by a good episode of Lost and a Bobcats win!

Lets say you are drinking a mixed drink. How do you prepare it?

Personally, my method of choice is:

Ice
Booze
Mixer

Where as some of my mates go with the:

Booze
Mixer
Ice

method.

I'm definately a Ice, Booze, Mixer man.

Except when I was young teenager when it was scull as much coke out of the bottle before attempting to pour as much booze into the bottle. Was set for the night then!

Ice is always step one. Depends after that.

My current favorite mix:

Ice + Dry vermouth. shake, discard vemouth
Add gin. Stir. Drain to glass.
Olive.
Drink.

Bundaberg Rum, full of sugar and alcohol.

Not to be taken lightly, has been known to send some people a little crazy and very punchy.

Ben Graham - the 1st Aussie ever to play in a Superbowl punting for the Cards tonight. 1st kick was a bit of a shocker. Gave the 2nd one a nice roost.

Got to root for the Cards on account of him playing.
