Well, at least we are in the right track in terms of rebuilding, I think. We are going to challenge the #1 overall this year. It's better picking around the late lotto.

Salmons and Martin are part of the overall attitude problem and they need their leashes pulled hard (then chained to the bench).
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Getting a top 3 pick means NOTHING unless you make the right pick...just look at the Lions. They've been picking in the top 3-5 for...how many years? And where did THAT get them?

Given that Petrie has shown in the past years that he can recognize true talent in the draft (consider, all our firsts recently but Douby), I'm VERY confident Petrie won't mess up a top 3 pick.

I'm pretty sure that that Petrie won't mess up this draft selection. It is pretty much a given. Look at his history. With the exception of Douby, he has a great background of selecting the right players.

Re: Kings/Bulls
Look at all the other old western conference powerhouses Phoenix, Dallas, Lakers (Kobe will be 31 this year) and Spurs all have old cores who will be rebuilding like the Kings very soon. So the good news is when we get back up we will be kicking them when they are down. JT is a great base, Petrie will get us a leader PG. I agree Shelden should be playing as much as Hawes he came in for a minute and knocked a guy who tried to dunk on him to the ground after the Kings were dunked on for 40 minutes straight. Shelden just gets frustrated because every time he comes into the game it is in scrub time and Hawes jacks it up the whole time padding his stats. Hawes scored a very weak scrub time based 9/8. He is 2 years younger than JT and like Greene should have very lilttle pressure and limited PT right now to build confidence it looks low in both. We will probably get Marion back if we trade Miller who is not an upgrade at PF but will play to see how he fits in. I wouldn't mind JT at SF, Shelden at PF and Hawes at C which would be a great scoring great defense down the road and bring Greene off the bench. I think there are so many of the the 6'10"/6'11"/7ft SF/PF/C combos in the NBA (Lakers, Magic, Cavs, Houston, that are such good teams that you need good rebounders and we like good shooters). I like the core we have a lot of depth and talent we just need a leader.

HAHAHAHAHA
I literally have not stopped laughing since I've seen that. It's one of those "it's funny because it's true" kind of scenarios. I honestly don't care what our lineup looks like. We are going to lose no matter what, and the guys who deserve time should get it. That's my opinion.
I just wanted to give you props on that metaphor.

With our luck we'd get Griffin and he'd be the biggest bust in NBA history! Or even better Harden, Griffin, Thabeet, etc. will all go back for another year leaving Tyler Hansbrough as our only choice

No, there are some serious talents that might declare and like I said, keep and eye on Greg Monroe if he does. If Petrie has the 1st pick I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him take him instead of Griffin.

The only thing that concerns me is that Petries track record when selecting in the lottery isn't the greatest. Then again, he has never had a pick as high as this one will most likely be.

Yep. That's a legitimate concern. But then again, come on, if the Kings happen to have the #1 pick overall, I'm pretty sure Petrie would select Griffin. That is pretty much a no brainer. Unless, Stephen Curry makes 100 jumpers in a row in the evaluation.
