Re: Super Bowl
I just read on ESPN that the replay official didn't even ask for a review. That can't be correct. I just assumed it was quickly reviewed in the booth. How does something like that not get reviewed?

Re: Super Bowl
I was listening to an interview on the radio, didn't catch who it was but it sounded like Whisenhunt and he said that they didn't review the play. That's stun, absolutely stun.

Re: Super Bowl
They don't review in the booth. In the last 2 minutes the booth can ask for a review but the referee does all the reviews. In college ball the actual reviews are done in the booth.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It did? It looked to me like he had a very solid grip on the ball when his arm started to move forward, that's why the ball went forward too.

Re: Super Bowl
It's not the booth officials job to make that judgement. He is to decide whether a play should be reviewed under 2 minutes. Certainly a critical play in the last two minutes of the SUPER BOWL should be reviewed just to be sure.

Re: Super Bowl
I thought the ball was moving before his arm came forward, but that play is so close it has to be reviewed by the official on the field. The Steelers got a 15 yard penalty on the play so if it was reversed the Cardinals would have been closer for one last shot.

Re: Super Bowl
This is very similar to the Patriots superbowl when a second was left on the clock. Once everyone rushes the field, its too late to get everyone back. I still think its a fumble - the ball is wobbling in warner's hand while its coming out (its not like the earlier one that was reviewed where he actually spiralled it while being hit), but I would still be pissed to not get the opportunity for replay.
Plus the cardinals would have been on the 29 yd line with that personal foul called on the play.
