Boozer shows commitment

Post#1 » by Sloanfeld » Sun Feb 1, 2009 2:53 pm

SUPER SPOT: Injured Jazz All-Star power forward Carlos Boozer is the spokesman for a 30-second Overstock.com commercial scheduled to air immediately after halftime of today's Super Bowl.

According to a news release from the Salt Lake City-based Internet retail sales company, the ad "is the third in Overstock.com's recent branding campaign to promote themes of determination, a sense of home, and community," and it "shows Boozer talking with kids about dedication."

Clearly, he's not going anywhere. At least Overstock hasn't lost faith in Boozer.

I'd rather see a press release detailing what he's doing to get back on the floor, rather than him doing a **** superbowl commercial

Holy crap. Thats like saying the guy in the Colgate toothpaste commercial is showing commitment. This is a case of Boozer, being a BUSINESSMAN, cashing in on his status as a marketable top-tier athlete. Nothing more. Expect him to do the same for some local hemoroid cream company or something in Memphis next year or wherever he is.....

Overstock.com is proud to have Olympian and professional basketball player Carlos Boozer on our team! Carlos has used his dominating low-post moves and powerful rebounding skills on many of the worlds biggest basketball courts, including the NBA All-Star Game, and the Olympic court in Beijing. Proven as one of the 12 most elite basketball players in the NBA by earning a spot on the star-studded U.S. Olympic roster, Carlos had the privilege of being on the U.S. "Redeem Team."

A loving husband and husband of three, Overstock.com is happy to welcome Carlos Boozer to our team!

Boozer did show his commitment, but not to the Jazz, to the almighty dollar.

Return to Utah Jazz
