McHale coach of the month

Post#1 » by B Calrissian » Mon Feb 2, 2009 8:26 pm

http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/56965/20090202/mchale_van_gundy_named_coaches_of_month/

McHale led the Timberwolves to a 10-4 (.714) record, good for a share of the third-best mark in the Western Conference (Denver) for games played in January. The 10 wins marked Minnesota’s most successful month since March, 2005, when the Timberwolves posted a 10-5 record. Minnesota won five straight games to open the month, and posted a 5-1 mark on the road.

I'll give credit to him for being a positive motivator, not trying to micromanage, and letting the guys make mistakes and gain confidence. Some times less coaching is the best coaching.

But I think the offensive and defensive assistants deserve alot of credit for improving the x's and o's and simplifying the game plan. Also the schedule maker gets a share of the award too.

3 of our next 4 wins are very winnable.

We play the Pacers(Who play very hard like us, but can't seem to close games out)

-Then we play the slumping Hawks

-Then the Rockets who are starting to get healthy.

-Then the Hornets who could possibly be without Paul and Chandler. That will leave Al Jefferson to just David West....Perect..

I'm looking forward to the Hawks game, should be fun.

Also can't wait to watch Big Al straight-up kick David West in the nuts and then drop step a dunk on his crippled body.

LOL, basically throwing David West to the Wolves. Man I'd love to see that and see him get rolled on.

Maybe it's my recent lack of cable television and my wild imagination, but I invision a WWE style beat down with folding chairs, baseball bats, and brass knuckles. The game will end with Jefferson staring into a camera screaming for David Stern to give him a title shot. I think Al Jefferson could deliver a mean choke slam.

Congrats to coach. While Wittman was here I never noticed how good our coaching staff actually is.

Scratch Indiana off the list. We are 1-0 since Mchale's award.

Time for the Wolves to eat some Hawks tomorrow.
