H-O-R-S-E....

Post#1 » by DWCP2 » Wed Feb 4, 2009 8:23 pm

Curious as to what everybody thinks of this addition to the All-Star weekend festivities. I'd think Dunleavy or Murphy should be a shoe in play in this.

Larry's probably kicking himself wondering where this was back in his day.

I'm looking forward to it because I think it could be a lot of fun. It could go either way. The chess match angle may be that someone just keeps putting in easy jumpers to stay in control of the game. That may not be as fun to watch. If they start busting out crazy shots then I think it will get a lot more fun. They could modify the rules so that after a player makes a shot the other player has to attempt the same shot, but then whether they make or miss they get to pick the next shot. That would avoid the easy jumpers scenario.

It should be a ton of fun. I'm VERY excited to watch this...I highly doubt we'll see a Pacer in this contest, though.

Tinsley would have been good in this but he screwed his career up.

Well Granger is in the 3pt. contest.

Shouldn't Rush and Hibbert get nods for the rookie-soph game?

Get the hell out of here. Luc Richard and Deandre Jordan have outperformed htem, respectively.
Rest in Peace, Pacerfan

I agree that Rush and Hibbert shouldn't be in that game.

H-O-R-S-E is going to look insanely pro with NBA players. Would dunks be allowed? Even if they weren't, seeing a half-court shooting contest would be amazing, also.

Let's let Tinsley play, but he has to wear a Fever jersey.

The roster for the Rook-Soph game have been released, of course neither of our guys are in.

Here's my guess on the H-O-R-S-E field.

Steve Nash, Wally Szczerbiak and Brent Barry.

The Shooting Star challenge we would dominate if they let us have Reggie, Tamika, and Danny. Unstoppable.

I think they will try and give Lebron like 50 grand to play. This is a low-risk game, so I think there could be some stars playing in it. I agree with Nash... Maybe Roy and hopefully Lebron?

Why would Dunleavy or Murphy be shoe-ins for this?

Back to reality, if Kevin Love and Rasheed Wallace aren't in this contest, it's a waste of time on the NBA's part. If you don't know why I say that, get on youtube and look up some of those 2 guys' trick shots. INSANE what those 2 can do with a basketball.

I am hoping this is like the McDonalds commercial with MJ and Bird:

I can't believe they were making those shots from the outside and everything! :D

Seriously though, I can make a backwards 3 one out of 5 times, and as cool as a halfcourt shot is, it's not that hard. I want to see things that average high-school players can't do. I will give it to Kevin Love, though, full-court shot with the flick of a rist is impressive.

If Steve Nash is in it he won't even shoot it, he'll just do tricks with his feet the whole time, which other players won't be able to do. I want some crazy off the wall stuff. They can dunk it from the wall like Andre Emmitt (not close to doin' that):
