Big Baby so solid vs the Sixers. He may cut into Perk's minutes now.

I don't know about that. But Big Baby is getting better and better. I tried to tell people that this kid can ball.

Re: Big Baby Can Ball!
wish Perk had a bit of offense, he was winding the ball at the hoop a couple of times in the post last night...what's the point of that? Maybe hanging around Leon too much.
That kick out shot of Baby's makes him undersized Blount-like scorer that can defend and get rebounds....not bad for a 2nd rounder making 700,000 this year. Some great screens by BB last night too.
OBTW, Cisco, I own you by like 15 posts or something!

I wonder if Perk's shoulder is still bothering him.
Also, what kind of contract do you think BBD might get in the offseason?

He's somewhat between what Scals is worth, say 1.0 million and Perk makes, 3or 4 million, to me.

Another strong game by BBD. Glad to see it. He had two huge offensive rebounds in the last 1:30. He also made a big shot from about 18 feet out during this stretch and set some big screens. His screen was the one that got Ray open for the 3 to win it.
Perkins on the other hand continues to struggle. Has Perkins had a good game over the last 5-6 weeks? He has become a no factor on offensive again.

Re: Big Baby Can Ball!
As far as a contract for Baby, obviously Ainge has to decide what he is focused on doing developing this nucleus of players or trying to be in position to make a move in '10. I am down on the cap space idea so I think Ainge will offer Baby and Powe deals similiar to Tony Allen 2 years at 2.5 mil and depending on how things play out maybe go as far as the 3 years at 3 mil that Landry got from Houston. Maybe he can get Rondo locked up on the cheap this off season as well something like Jameer Nelson's deal

Ya, I'm just not sure that the Celtics will extend offers to both Powe and Davis. I hope that they look to sign a more accomplished and taller big (see Sheed) and one of Davis/Powe. Preferably Davis as far as my taste goes.

I don't care if they keep either player as long as they go out and get a true impact big man to complement Perk and KG - this team needs a 'Sheed or Camby type to seriously bolster the remaining 3 years of KG's contract...
...loved Davis' game against Philly, looked exactly like a face-up, role-playing, big man is suppose to 5-9 from his spot-up positions in the half-court...and he rebounded solidly too - best all-around game of his career...

I agree with this. I do like both guys, but it doesn't make sense to keep both when you need some length. My guess is they would pick Davis because of his versatility in being able to play both frontcourt positions and Doc is now using him in both positions. Not sure what value they place on him though in terms of dollars and years.

Re: Big Baby Can Ball!
I think you seem to be missing the point. I am not sure they would sign both Leon and Baby but you extend a team friendly offer to both. These are not the type of guys that are targets in restricted FA. If one takes then you might pull the other offer but at 2.5 mil it might be wise to sign both. You may always have both back at the QO.
Teams and agents hate offer sheets that the team is going to match. It leaves a FA offer in print for the team that signs it and the agent always looks as though he could have gotten more from the original team. I think restricted FA sucks for role players, guys who are in the below MLE salary class for this reason, but them's the rules.
