All trade ideas for guys not named Beno, Miller or Salmons

Post#1 » by dozencousins » Wed Feb 4, 2009 5:01 pm

According to 3 different NBA sites hoopsworld.com,hoopshype.com & inside hoops.com

Salmons may be moved to Oklahoma for j.smith expiring +
Beno may be moved to Orlando,Dallas or New orleans possibly stack from dallas etc.
Moore & Douby may be moved to New Jersey for ager +
Brad & K9 may be moved to Miami for marion

some of these rumors we already knew about the possibilty others we didnt

if anyone knows how or wants to add 1 or more of the links to this thread it would be appreciated

this thread is to discuss these possible deals & players i ask the mods not to lock it on the basis that it is to discuss players other than Brad ,John & Beno now this thread is to discuss pretty much anyone on our roster or at least any of the above names mentioned

thoughts

All the main points you/hoopshype brought up were referenced back to the SacBee's story this morning (which mentioned all the above deals as potential.)

http://www.sacbee.com/sports/story/1597306.html

Honestly, I'm perfectly happy with all of them, so long as we get something good out of Oklahoma besides just an exp in return for Salmons.

I don't like the Salmons deal. I think we can get more, if not then I say we keep Salmons.

Moving Beno for Stack would make me very happy or moving him for any expiring or short contract.

Moore and Douby for Ager? I don't really get that one. Ager makes 1 million and Moore and Douby is well beyond that amount. So NJ would have to add something else in and that something else better be an expiring contract otherwise no dice. Douby is already expiring and we can buy Moore out so we better not be taking back any salary in that deal. BTW I use to really like Ager when he was in college, he was one of my favorite players, unfortunately he is crap in the NBA.

And Miller and K9 for Marion sounds good to me, we probably will have to take back Banks though, I'd probably still do it if all the other trades go through (then it wont be so bad to absord Bank's contract).

From what the article says, the offer was just Ager for Douby, but Nets also have interest in Moore.

Yeah, Ager was offered earlier in the season for Douby, but the Kings said no. UGH!

Really no point as they're both exp and pretty worthless. If we can get Moore in there and get another EXP though, that would be worth it.

I would be very happy if we could get Swift/Ager for Moore/Douby.

Wouldn't be suprised if Sean Williams landed here at Sac since Nets are selling him soo cheap :)

Maybe Hassel/Williams/Ager for Moore/Douby/2nd Round Pick

Don't read anything into my edit of your original post...I was just trying to make it clear what direction this thread should go in. (see ICMTM's thread at the top of the board). KIE

I agree with the Moore maybe even Douby for Swift. If we were able to sign a free agent named Mike Bibby for 2 years to toughen up our squad and our drafted PG I would trade Salmons for capspace. I think Atlanta might not resign him since they have Acie Law who was clutch at Texas A&M on the bench. I would do it as a bandaid to get us into the playoffs until our PG develops (most of the possible PGs are less than 20). I think we could we have about $15ish ($17ish if we unload Moore for Swift) in capspace before the possible KT, Miller trade which would add another $18. $30 millish is enough for Bibby and another ok vet SF. If we could unload Beno which I don't know is possible we could get $5mil more of capspace. I like it. I would even consider Marbury since we just really need a band aid high scoring 2 year PG. Before you cry about Beno he was signed like Mikki Moore to be run and gunners in Theus' system not Petrie's princeton guys. They are just terrible fits for our systems and would be better in other systems.

What's up with your man crush on Bibby?

If we wanted him, we wouldn't have traded him for some trash.. I am not gonna be trading the roster for expiring just to get Bibby back, lol..

plus Bibby would not help this team get back to the playoffs

2 trade scenarios?

Post#17 » by The Magic Man » Tue Feb 17, 2009 5:13 pm

The first trade was already offered from Phx but we turned it down,I think we should revisit this trade for Amare.
Kings:J.Thompson,B.Jackson,S.Williams,1rd
Suns:A.Stoudemire

The second trade is with New Orleans for a defensive center, they have him on the trading block and they want a expiring contract back,we have the perfect expiring contract Miller who also plays center and could start for New Orleans.
Kings:B.Miller
Hornets:T.Chandler

Kings
pg:Udrih,Brown
sg:Martin,Garcia,Douby
sf:Salmons,Garcia,Greene
pf:Amare,Moore,Thomas
c:Chandler,Hawes

We still have some good young talent (Hawes,Greene) to build around our big 3 (Amare,Martin,Chandler).Kings basketball would be more entertaining with this roster,we would be a young team on the rise with Martin and Amare as the conerstones of the franchise.

I still think that Thompson/Expiring/1st is a hefty price to pay for what could be just 1 year of Amare (after this wasted season). If the suns could give him an extension before the trade somehow that gives us a couple years to work with I would agree. Until then I see Thompson/ Free Agent/ Top 3 pick for 1 year of Stoudamire, and that dosn't seem worth it to me.

Chandler is a terrible waste of money. He averages 8/8/1.5 blocks in 30 minutes a game for $11.4 mil. We have Shelden who averages 4/3/.3 in 10 minutes a game and would have the same production if we played him 30 min a night at $3.4 million. Shelden is the only guy who doesn't get pushed around on our roster and is underused on our roster. When people talk of the bad value for production of Beno, Chandler is Beno bad pay for bad production times 2.

This is the problem with going purely off of stats. Anybody that saw the Spurs-Hornets series last year knows why Tyson Chandler is valuable. He did a better job on Duncan than anyone I've ever seen.
