I was born a Pacer fan... My father was a causual fan since the ABA days... The first SOLID memory I have of my love for the Pacers was when Reggie went nuts in MSG for 25 pts in that fourth quarter... UNREAL is what I remember thinking... I was about 10... The following season at the start pf the playoffs, solidified my love for the BLUE and GOLD...
My most favorite memory of the Pacers... My Boys and Girls club team, which was TERRIBLE btw, won some sort of contest, free throws maybe... Anyways, we were awarded a team trip to a Pacers game, which happened to coincide with the return of one Michael Jordan... And a great Pacers W

I'll become a millionaire, throw a realgm party, and pay reggie like $50,000 to be the guest of honor. I don't know if any of you watch hockey, but I used to live 2 houses down from Brett Hull. At the time he didn't have any kids (maybe an infant, but I don't think so) and his house was moderately sized. So not all athletes making $5 million have to spend $15 million on a house. I also lived near Stan Musial (old St. Louis great). Here in Indy I lived by Peyton, but I think he would live other places most of the year. Now he doesn't live at this house at all, but I don't think he ever sold it either, unless he did privately. One time, probably 3-4 years ago, I was driving by and Archie and Eli were playing catch. I totally wanted to go out there and talk to them (I still said hi, of course) and try and join in, but I had to go to some stupid engagement party for my sister. Man, sisters just ruin everything

I actually only talked to Peyton twice. One time it was Halloween and I just put on my Manning jersey to go to his house. His wife said he was getting ready for the next game. I was pissed so I got my friends Tom Brady jersey and put it on and went back to get even. His wife appeared like she couldn't have cared less, but I am sure it toar her up insde.

I used to live by WR Mushin Muhammed and shorty Mugsy Bogues back in Charlotte, NC. Mugsy compensated so much. He had a 4-story house.

Good 'ol Muggsy. What a perfect name for him. I looked up his wiki, and he was the head coach of the Charlotte Sting of the WNBA. Not only did I not know about him coaching, I didn't know about the Charlotte Sting. A lot of the players must've been a decent size taller than him, kind of embarassing.

M4E, did you ever see his wife (if he has one). Maybe he is in to tall chicks. Another random thought by GP733.

By the way, Gremz, if it is a night game here in the states, what time is it in Australia? Also, every Australian I've met is extremely outgoing and they all are hardcore partiers. Is that just random, because I figure you have to be pretty outgoing to move to another country for a while to work, or do Austrailians tend to be more outgoing than most people?

Speaking of going nuts, I may give one just to have been at that game.

2nd inappropriate comment of the night, but that game was amazing! I think I would have to take the 8 points in a few seconds over that game. Either way I would love wearing my Pacer jersey going crazy, except for the fear of getting beaten in the parking lot. Or the game that is on all the posters when Reggie shoots the 3 and all the Knicks fans have stunned faces just knowing he is going to make it. I love Reggie, and Spike Lee for fueling Reggie's fire.

The usual 7pm tip-off in Indy is 11am here.

You got that right we don't muck around down here. Here for a good time, not a long time. Usually 3 or 4 nights a week I'll be up to shenanigans and no good. We're all pretty laidback (for the most part) and barring random idiocy we genuinely all manage to get along well and have a great time. Good thing over here, If you're a friend of a friend you always get a free drink. And there are a lot of cool people to meet night in/night out.

What do you think about MSG? I went to a game there once when I was on spring break. Tickets were expensiiiiive, and we had crappy seats. I wasn't very impressed with MSG, though. It took us a long time to get to our seats. We were probably 1/2 way up and were on escelators for a while. Plus the stands are so dark. They played the Blazers when they weren't good, so it wasn't a very exciting game, but I wasn't too impressed. Obviously will be different for a playoff game, though.

MSG is the greatest arena I've ever been to. Knicks games haven't been that exciting, and NBA games in general suck because of all the distractions the league/franchises try to throw at fans during the game. Still had a great experience though. But Rangers games... that's a different story. I went to a Rangers vs. Bruins come from behind shootout victory there earlier this season, and it simply was one of the best sports atmospheres I've ever been in. Plus, New York fans are brutal towards the other team, and their own (I've never gotten through a NY sporting event without the crowd booing their own team), which I find entertaining. Also, they have some extremely well padded seats at MSG.

However, my taste is probably different because I seem to be one of the only people who finds Conseco Fieldhouse a little hokey and forced. But perhaps I just miss my family's season tickets at MSA--we gave them up with the price hike at Conseco. Incidentally, that's how I became a Pacers fan, was just sort of born into it.

I find it interesting that so many Pacers fans here are from outside Indiana, I had no idea the team had that sort of reach. Also fascinating is the amount of people who were introduced to the team through video games--I think that's really cool. Just goes to show how new media is delocalizing everything.

My names Richard, im 24, and I grew up in Robinson Illinois which is on the Illinois/Indiana border. Growing up everyone here were extreme Jordan and Bulls fans but I was the outcast. I bled blue and gold and made sure everyone knew about it. Anytime MJ was mentioned I was right there to throw in Reggie's name. Sadly due to the small market not alot of people knew much of the Pacers but thankfully I had a Pacers fan in a father. So it was only genetic that by my 7th grade year I wore nothing but Pacers and different Reggie Miller jerseys my entire year to school. If it was cold then a sweater went under them. I endured so much ridicule during those times but I embraced it because I knew my hero, Reggie, embraced ridicule as well. I read religiously, "I Love Being The Enemy" by Reggie Miller and its a book I still love to this day. After High School I moved to Vincennes, Indiana where I attended and graduated Vincennes University. I got to support another team of blue and gold and it made me pretty excited. I just recently moved back to Robinson from Vincennes and am terribly upset that I do not get Fox Sports Indiana in my cable package. We get Fox Sports Midwest here even though a town (Lawrenceville, Illinois) that is 15 minutes away gets FSI. UGH its depressing and I really cant afford to get League Pass so ive found other methods of catching the games as much as possible. Ive been a lurker on this board for years now and have pretty well kept to myself unless a topic or a statement really reaches me. I visit both the General and Pacers forums daily and am impressed with alot of the frequent posters knowledge and opinions. I'm here to stay guys even if im in the background. Now only if all this snow would clear up?

I wasn't a fan of any team, really, since Bird retired from the Celtics. Until the old Cincinnati Royals moved, I was a big fan of theirs, especially Lucas and Robertson. When Bird joined the Celtics, I became a Celtics fan. I had always admired Reggie , and when Bird came here to coach, it was an easy switch--my favorite legend coaching a team with a player who I had always admred. So basically I eased into becoming a Pacer fan because I liked Reggie, and when Bird came to Indy it sealed the deal, especially since those idiots in Boston had frozen him out after all he did for them and took Pitino instead (bad move!)

My connection to any of the teams I like usually starts with one player. I've been a Tiger fan for life because of Al Kaline.

I'll likely remain a Pacer fan because of Bird and Miller. My favorite current Pacer is Jeff Foster. I admire guys who give 110%, and that's Foster.
