Allstar replacements

Post#1 » by tombattor » Thu Feb 5, 2009 4:56 pm

I know at least 2 players (Paul and Nelson) are out of the ASG with injuries. I'm hoping the replacements are Ray and Big Al. Did they announce the replacements yet? Does anyone know?

Haven't announced them yet, but those two are clearly the most deserving replacements. Big Al did say he doesn't want to be a replacement though, he wants to make it to the all star game the real way.

I think Mo Williams and Ray both deserve to be on the team. But if I had to choose between the two I'd say Mo will get on. Its better for Ray to get the rest anyways.

No offense to Big Al, but take when you can get it, the Western Conference is stacked with bigs you and old, you might have easier time of making the Olympic Team than the Western All Stars. I am sure you aren't rubbing anyone the wrong way with the "I can't be an inury replacement" thing.

Allen or VC should get in. But Mo will be selected after all that whining by CAVS.

sad to say for Al but if Chris Paul cant make the All Star game i expect Carmello to get the nod. I dont think there is a single small forward on west squad.

Ray Allen deserves it so much more then Mo....plus I dont think anyone who wines about it as much as he did deserves it.

I got blinded by Mo Williams' 43 pt game - he's only scoring 17 a game at 46 pct shooting; Nelson definitely deserved to get in over him. Nelson's only weakness is limited minutes/shots, he's only scoring 16 a game...

Probably the ranking of the "borderline" candidates should be more like this IMO:

1. Pierce 2. Ray 3. Devin Harris 4. Vince Carter 5. Jameer Nelson 6. Rashard Lewis 7. Rondo 8. Mo Williams...

Apparently, you were also blinded by Harris's November.

id be fine with Mo over Harris. Harris belly aching when he got benched against us really made me sour on him. Him texting Donavan McNabb asking how he should handle it was a joke. Especially considering it came after the eagles got knocked out of the playoffs.

He's still averaging 21.5 ppg and 6.5 assists, on decent 44 pct shooting...a great 2 month stretch is a lot different from a great game...

That blows Nelson's 16.7 / 5.4 and Mo Williams's 17.1 / 4.2 out of the water...

Pierce, Ray, and Harris were pretty much no-brainer picks for the reserves; I don't really think you can make any argument for another PG over Harris this year.

Glad to see Ray finally got what he deserved.

Would like to see Big Al get Paul's spot. But it wouldn't shock me if someone like Nash got it.

Yeah, but I can't see 3 players from the Suns, who are currently out of the playoff spot, going to the Allstar game, even if the game's in Phoenix.
