Nothing Like The Lakers Live!

Post#1 » by TylersLakers » Fri Feb 6, 2009 2:23 am

Well, as all of you know, I was at my first ever NBA game on Wednesday night as my Lakers played against the Toronto Raptors at the ACC.

It was what I thought it would be and more. Absolutely amazing. Definitely wished my luck was a little better with Andrew, but seeing Kobe and the rest of the gang was absolutely amazing.

Pictures and videos from the digital camera will come as soon as I get home Sunday. I never had a chance to get autographs, unfortunately. :( I think next time, I'm gonna get tickets right beside the aisle where they go back to the locker rooms. Security wouldn't let ANYONE from any other sections go there. That would have been my best chance at autographs.

The game was great. Of course, would have much rather preferred a blow out and a statement defensively (I must have yelled 300 times "D THE F**K UP!!"). But, what else can be better than a bunch of stupid, loud, potty-mouthed Raptor fans behind me going home with their tails between their legs after Kobe struck them with the final dagger?

Positives:

- Kobe in the first and fourth quarters. What else can you say? We needed him in both those periods, and he came through. My girlfriend sitting beside me asked me at the start of the fourth.. "You worried?" and I responded quietly among the cheering Raptor fans, "With Kobe, I'm never worried."

- Josh Powell: His stat line might not have been amazing, but the way he battled with Jermaine at the start of the fourth.. he wasn't going to back down from going at him. What a sequence that was.

- Pau: Silent assassin. You don't even know he's putting up amazing stats until you look up at the box score on the scoreboard. He carried us in periods. His weakside defensive rotations need to be corrected and he does have to be a little more aggressive, but there's no complaining about him. Great player.

- Lamar Odom is REALLY long. I kept on yelling at the court, "BE AGGRESSIVE LO!!" and after the second time I yelled it, he looked over in my direction. A couple minutes later, Kobe found him for a massive jam.

- Derek Fisher is built like a brick s***house. Wow. He looks so tiny on TV, but he is thick.

Negatives:

- Luke Walton: His passing has always been great, but his defense and everything else is just bad. A ball rolled right by him, and he could have took it. Instead, he doesn't and it leads to a wide open Parker three, I think. Like.. come on man.

- We missed Drew with protecting the paint. Joey Graham, Parker, JO, and even Roko Ukic got multiple shots right infront of the rim.

Anyways. Nothing like Lakers live. I'll post the videos and pictures when I get back home. Finally got my first taste of our Lakers and I got to witness Kobe at his best in the clutch. :D

I was only able to see the Lakers live for their two (preseason) games against golden state last year. They only come to Hawaii every other year. You're right though, it's totally different live. Two of the best nights of my life.

Awesome man. I went to my 1st Lakers game (1st NBA game since I was a kid) on January 2nd when they played the Jazz in LA. My girlfriend got me tickets =)

It was a perfect game. Not a blowout, but a solid win for the Lakers with Kobe scoring 40 points :)

I have a bunch of pictures. I should try and get some of them on here because my girlfriend has a awesome camera that let us get a lot of pics.

Here is a pic from our seats on the 3rd level

Nice pictures, it's looks like you sat in the same section as me when I went to the game against the Bobcats...section 316.

That's great, I hope it will be as good for me as it was for you. I plan on attending the Memphis game (April the 12th) if I get the flights in time. It's gonna be great to watch my fellow spaniards, the Gasol brothers, battling head to head.

nothing beats live action. The crowd, the food, beer, atmosphere.. the skanky girls waiting for a player to bite lol jk. I think the best seat i've been on was right behind the basket, everybody were not ants anymore.. they were giants lol.

I'm glad you had a wicked time, Tyler.

I remember in '06 we went to Disney and I told my parents the only way I was going was if I got to catch a Lakers game. Luckily, the game I went to see was against the Suns a day before my birthday.. Unluckily, since Phoenix was already set for the playoffs, My main man, Nash was resting (and Amare was out with his injury).

Still the best live event I've ever been to. I remember we held them to 89 points (just barely) and the Taco chants. One of the most memorable moments of my life, lol.

I wanted to come down to LA this year and catch a game but definitely won't be able to. Next year, I'm definitely coming down, either during Reading Week or in April once school term is over.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
