Varejao's value

Hey, Wolves fan here. With all the Mike Miller rumors out there, I was curious if you guys think that the Cavs would include Varejao in a potential Miller deal. Varejao would be a perfect fit in MN next to Al Jefferson and Kevin Love, both good players but undersized, defensively-challenged bigs.

I'm thinking he's too valuable to move, even for an offensive player like Miller - Sideshow Bob finishes games for you guys, doesn't need the ball, good defender. On the other hand you've got a fleet of bigs, and maybe Hickson needs the minutes to develop? Just curious. Thanks.

No, we wouldn't include him.

Varejao is always one of the first guys I include in trades scenarios. I'd certainly move him in a deal for Miller.

We won't trade Andy unless it includes a better big & is just too good to turn down. Won't happen this year.

it would be completely stupid to include Varejao in any deal that didn't bring back a young big.

Its not that Varejao is untradable, its just not worth gutting our big men depth to add another scorer on the outside.

Varejao has more value to CLE than he does other teams.

He plays well off LBJ and is a perfect fit for our defensive scheme. I doubt Ferry moves him unless we are getting an Amare level type front court player which may sound crazy but I honestly think that's the situation given how old Big Ben/Z are.

That's kind of what I thought. Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of the Miller to Cleveland rumors. I've seen your team a bunch of times, and you've already got good shooters and better defenders on the wings. Miller's a fine offensive player (good passer, underrated rebounder) but he can't defend me. In a conference where you have to go contend with Paul Pierce and Rashard Lewis to get to the Finals, I'm not sure Miller would be much more than a situational guy anyway.

Thanks for the input. Personally, I wouldn't put any hope into Mike Miller coming to the Cavs. I just don't see him as a missing piece on this team, and even if it was just Miller/Cardinal for Wally, I think we'd rather just keep Wally this year.

Yes, Andy can opt out this summer which is one of the reasons his name was in so many trade rumors last summer and earlier this season. It appears Ferry and Andy's agent have mended some fences and Varejao apparently wants to stay with the Cavs. Of course he wants to get paid too. The Cavs' Owner as well as LeBron are big Varejao fans. If I had to guess it looks as if Andy will be staying a Cav but anything is possible in the NBA.
