Best SF?

Post#1 » by Gremlin » Wed Feb 4, 2009 5:40 pm

I saw on the wiretap that Melo says he's the best SF in the West, and it surprised me really to see how average the West as when it came to the position. Anyways, while I would agree that until his injury he was the best in the conference, I think Durant may have really vaulted ahead since then. I'm far from an avid Thunder fan and just wanted to know this board's feelings on him.

Umm, it's pretty close right now. I would definitely say (depending upon what position you consider a guy as) that across the board, the West is pretty weak at SF. I would give the edge to Melo in most categories, most notably the team's record. However, Durant (IMO) will end up being a better player. Right now Kevin probably has the edge in all of the character/attitude areas and on his jump shot. Lately Durant was really stepped it up, so if you just look at January, especially considering Melo's injury... Durant would potentially be the best SF in the conference.

Well at least Melo said it the day before he went head to head with the other SF in the West who is a better player.

Looks like tonight they are both having good games.

Anthony may be the best SF right now but I think his days are numbered as Durant seems poised to take that spot from him very soon. Carmelo seems to have already hit his peak while I believe that Durant has the potential to surpass him in many facets of the game.

Never been a big Mello fan. He has so much potential but i am not a fan of his mental composition. If I had to choose the best SF in the West Durant is my pick.

Give Kevin Durant a Billups or even an Iverson to play with and he'd **** on Melo's bed and make him eat it.

No contest.

In November this was easily Melo but as of today, this moment it's Durant. He's better across the board. Especially on D where their is no stat to measure.
