Random Question

Post#1 » by ritt0093 » Fri Feb 6, 2009 4:17 pm

Just a passing thought I had yesterday. With the wiretap suggesting that the suns are atleast considering blowing it up would there be any interest in making a play for shaq? For example something along the lines of (Collins, Cardinal, miller, McCants and MIA first) would do it financially. There are a couple of things to consider. 1) This would absolutely kill ANY cap room in 09. 2) This would create what I believe is the single biggest expiring in the 2010 market if things weren't working out. 3) Would give Minny some national attention again and could help in 2010 free agent market. 4) There really isnt a great current big man to mentor Love AND jefferson. (If I was Al I doubt I'd take much advice from Collins or Madsen) Would Shaq help in that regard?

PG: MIN draft pick(24)/Telfair(24)
SG: Foye (32)/ Brewer (16)
SF: Brewer (16)/ Gomes (32)
PF: Jefferson (12)/ Love (30)
C: ONeal (28)/ Jefferson (20)

shaq, like most old people, would want to stay in warm weather. notice miami and phx are known as God's waiting room.

also al and shaq would struggle to coexist. they both are left block monsters. they would struggle to play time together.

It makes us better now, but Shaq's about to turn 37. He doesn't have much left.

If Phoenix is going to blow it up, they will want some building blocks. That means we would have to part with at least one of our young guys and probably a couple picks. Shaq would give us enough wins next year that we would lose our pick to LAC. He would be done in 2010, then we'd be back to square one with fewer core pieces, fewer picks, and cap space but little to entice FAs here. It would be fun for a year but not worth it in the long run.

That is the only think I like about Shaq, that rap song. I do not want him here!
