Advanced Drama 201

Paula Pierce's pet move...He drives until contact, lowers shoulder, thrusts elbow into the defenders stomach, snaps his head back like a pez dispenser, extends his arm to gain seperation, attempts a continuation, and shoots 1 or 2 throws from the stripe. This is how he makes up for his lack of speed/athleticism. Here's the cherry on top, the cry scream to draw attention to and from at the same time...TO "Hey tight shirts there's a foul over here!"...FROM "S-Mediums how can it be charging if I'm cry screaming?"

yup, seems like these days.. u not only need bball skills you need acting skills as well. I realized that after watching last years finals... man can he act lol.... kinda pathethic but it works. Only way to combat that is to do the same. I say Lakers go thru this drama class as well.

Paul Pierce, Manu Ginobili or Dwyane Wade -- put a gun to my head, and I honestly couldn't pick who's the bigger offensive flopper. I suppose you have to give credit where credit's due. It works, and they're good at it.

hahahaha thats all that loser ever does... lets not forget, wheelchair boy also has a slowmo spin move so he can run into somebodys chest and flail to get the call... he did that twice last night and got away with it...

On the same note... its NOT A BIG SECRET, all the pussycats in green try to FLOP, FLAIL, SELL CALLS the entire game and apply dirty tactics... its so cowardly cus this is actually a big part of their game and they cant win without it.

Im really proud of the way our guys smacked the cowards back in the face last night... our team played the right way and won. Lets have a good day today Laker fans... cus boston is still thinking about last night... bwuhahahahaha!

I dont' remember what game but there was one where the camera was pointing right at Pierce sitting on the bench. He was showing another player how to lure guys to them.. grab their arm and pull them towards you while you go up for a jumper.. foul!

i guess the whole club went thru his class...

this class should be a requirement for all rookies hehe

Ha DD, good point. I think they also have a new wrinkle move, did you see the Nutty Professor set a pick on top of the key, he bull rushed the LAL like a NFL LB.

he definitely got a call on fish last night with that move. i've got to say that PP seems to be able to effect kobe's offensive game when he's covering him. he's got the length and due to the fact that the c's play good team d, kobe doesn't seem willing to put the ball on the floor and attack him. kobe settles for chucking up bad shots when PP is on him.

Speaking of floppers, have you noticed how our team yells almost every single time they shoot the ball and there's a defender on them (whether there's contact or not)? Not to say that this compares to what any of the guys you listed do, but I started noticing how much more we do this than just about any other team in the league. When it comes to verbal flopping, we are pretty much the creme of the crop.

I think Kobe's "HEY!" started it all.

I wouldn't be surprised if that one is real because Kobe Bryant is just that powerful but he also does that against the likes of Derek Fisher and Luke Walton.

The guys I notice most of all are Kobe and Pau. Lamar yells a lot, but I think he's just got a screw loose or something.

I guess if you're going to try to bait the officials into giving you a call, I'd prefer verbal flopping over the "I just got shot in the forehead by a sniper in the upper deck" approach favored by Pierce and Ginobili. Oh well -- it's all falls under the same umbrella of gamesmanship. Whatever it takes to win.

It's actually been around for a while now. The very first player I ever first noticed ever doing it was Tim Hardaway back when he was with the Warriors. That was as big a part of his arsenal as the crossover.

He's one of my favorite players, so I probably cut him too much slack. But you're right, he's definitely a member of that crowd.

Back to the verbal flopping, I have noticed bynum has been doing it a lot. Not to point any fingers at other player on other teams, because the lakers do have sasha and fisher (he can fly across the floor on contact :p). But they are not even in the same league as any of the above players mentioned.

Those two are definitely the ones who do it most often, but Bynum has added it to his arsenal as well recently. In fact, I think he yells even louder than Gasol -- just not as often. In fact, I think the only ones who don't yell after every shot are our bench guys (minus Odom).

True.

I just find it annoying as hell, probably because once I zeroed in on that I just couldn't stop noticing it... lol.
