I like the idea of playing with OJ and Bosh together but there is always a "but".
The thing is you gotta add someone else to the deal. a defender or a shooter like kapono or parker. If we trade two player for just one that means more of buckner, haddadi or could even mean to use Toine. Not to mention bosh will be waiting for 2010 to getaway to the knicks. Or maybe we can sing a good Free agent in the summer and make bosh stay. FA like GrizzleGM said:

listed by order of who the Grizz would want!
Amare Stoudamire PO $16.4
Carlos Boozer PO $12.3

Al Harrington PO $10.0
Kobe Bryant PO $23
Rip Hamilton PO $11.6

Stephen Hunter PO $3.7
Mark Blount PO $7.9
Eddie Curry PO $10.5
Quentin Richardson PO $8.7
Jamal Crawford $9.4
Right now (Nov 28, 2008) the Grizz appear to have about $14.8mil in cap space if we land a top 5 draft pick. The Grizz would need to shed either Darko's or Jaric's contract for an expiring in order to have enough money to offer a max deal to a player that can opt out of their contract.

Re: tor-mem+trade
I watch pretty much every Raptors game(being from Vancouver) and the one player I think could help Memphis is Joey Graham. He has played small forward most of his career but the other night he played shooting guard with his assignment guarding Kobe Bryant. He's built tough, plays tough, and has shown a fair bit of athleticism lately. He really looked good against Kobe (or at least as good as most that have to guard him).
He hasn't been a key component to their squad and if Toronto was interested in saving a bit of money I could see Buckner's non guaranteed contract for Graham's deal( I think his qualifying offer is going to be around $3mil), plus something else small added in from Memphis.
Again, I was both surprised and impressed that Graham could play the perimiter on defense ( he's always been a rugged customer around the paint) and I pictured him as the sixth man backup for Mayo and Gay. Check out Grahams stats the last 10 or so games since they changed coaches. Something has clicked for this guy and he could be a good depth player, which Memphis needs.

On Graham, why hasn't he panned out until recently. Was the system with Smitch contradicted the style that Graham normally plays?

It's tough to say with Graham. Coming out of college he was a guy who did well because of his athleticism and strength and not his pure basketball skills and IQ. So I suppose he might not have had the tutoring in the NBA where for some teams it's more about being expected to pick things up and execute them more on your own rather than have a dedicated teacher guiding you along.
Sam Mitchell wasn't known as a teacher type but rather a more tough love dictator type that demanded you perform. Maybe Graham couldn't figure it out on his own. But I'll say this. Mitchell searched everywhere for someone to grab the starting small forward spot and Graham was given as good a chance as anyone on the team to seize it. I mean they were so desperate they ended up giving it to undrafted 26 year old rookie Jamario Moon.
I'm sure it's no coincidence that he has played better with Jay Triano as head coach though. But he is a role player who I think could find a new niche as a sixth man combo defensive specialist that has athleticism and physical attributes over pure skill. And I think Memphis could use a few of those types. That's also a reason I mentioned that a big, strong backup defensive pointguard such as Keyon Dooling would also fit as well. Let's face it, both Gay and Mayo are always going to put more focus on their offense so having a tougher backup like Graham ( I'm not saying he is the only one but rather his type ) might be a good idea.
I guess I'm just a fan of a more defensive, power game over the wide open D'Antonio style or Don Nelson ball. Maybe that's why I realy admired the Pistons for those years when they were always in the top tier of the NBA.
Plus when I look at the Spurs I see a team that have two fast offensive players in Parker and Ginobli and one elite power forward that is solid on both ends of the floor, and always seem to be able to surround them with changing strong role players that keep them near the top of the standings. I could envision the Grizzlies developing that kind of team.
But they have a long ways to go to having a great balance of offense and defense, quick but still strong, plus the ultimate intangeables of smarts and veteran savvy. And I have to say this. I just don't see the vision in the GM that says this is our identity and I'm going to put together the roster in a certain way that relects that. It's more piecemeal and fill the holes.
I kind of got offtrack from the Graham reply. Sorry.

Re: tor-mem+trade
It's cool. Good post. With Graham, I figured that with his athleticism, he could be put to good use as a defensive specialist. From the stats he produced on offense through his early career, I had my doubts on him being a better contributor from that standpoint. I expect him to move on from Toronto during the offseason since he hasn't had consistant success there. On the Spurs and Pistons, I hear you on how other teams like the Grizz could learn a lot from following their example of having the players that can produce on both ends of the floor to win games. The whole scheme of playing one side over the other may work in the regular season, but never succeed well in the playoffs.
