Brand out for the season

Post#1 » by PerkinsFor3 » Thu Feb 5, 2009 9:44 pm

See the wiretap.

Pretty sad. I'm one of those Clipper fans who always wished Brand all the best and success. The Sixers just can't catch a break, can they? Still the Sixers medical staff should've been more cautions, rushing Brand back. The MRI's now showed his shoulder was 'healing' when he came back. Not 'healed' but 'healing'. WTF?

Also, I'm hoping Speights will get more minutes now, I like that guy. I wouldnt be surprised to see Miller go now btw.

Who is this MF again?

At least dude has more time to coddle his mommy now. I can't speak for all, but I do not feel the least bit sorry for him. Karma's a bitch, ain't it, bitch?

Good thing he didn't come back with us. Maybe his body can't hold up anymore and he would have just been another player added to our injury list. He's probably having the surgery because he doesn't fit with Philly's style.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Actually we caught a break  We can finally run and Speights can get more playing time. Kaman's best friend reggie evans outplayed Brand against the C's. Brand was sitting and watching while Evans was trying to get some loose balls.

It sucks for him and the Philly fans, but I'm thankful that it is not our burden to bear. It will be interesting to see what the Sixers do with Miller though.

I hope he continues to be dead weight for Philly and their fans.

It's possible that Miller could be heading out of Philly now. As for Brand, best of luck to him in Philly. He'll need it.

If they don't trade him before the deadline, then they're pretty much stuck re-signing him since they won't have the cap room to offer more than the MLE to a free agent.

Sucks for Philly, and for me because I had him on my fantasy team (first pick too). Looks like Karma bit him right in the ass though, after what he pulled on us.

At first I felt bad about being happy about this injury, but it really works out for the best for all parties involved. The 76ers become a better team without Brand, Brand still gets his money and he can finally start working on "getting fat" like he mentioned he wanted to do in that ESPN the Magazine article last fall. It's a win-win.

Philly could make the trade now so they don;t lose Miller for nothing come the offseason.

It's better for Philly to not interrupt its playoff run with Miller leading the charge.

If anything in the offseason (depending on playoff performance) and with the RFA status Frye/Diogu, they could combine with Blake's expiring and make it a win-win for both teams.

Philly better step on it. Before they know it. April will arrive and if they aren't where they need to be. The door will be shut.
