no need to over react. carney is ahead of mccants on the depth chart still. it was just a move to spark some scoring at it worked.

basically our second unit ran small with cardinal at the 4 creating minutes for another wing. this is due to craig being out but also our backcourt having a poor shooting night. maybe we are showcasing mccants and carney for a trade?

Maybe its sacrilige, but I'd be happy to trade Carney. He makes some great athletic plays, but he makes a lot of mistakes as well. He really responded to the minutes we gave him early on, but I don't think he's looked nearly as good lately. We don't have Bird Rights on the guy either, so even if he turns it on, we might not be able to keep him anyway .. he can sign with whoever he wants.

Agreed, he is a fun to watch that is for sure! Who doesn't like the 3 ball and lightning speed finished with big dunks. I would rather trade him then see him just sign with another team.

Yo me, Carney is a tantalizing glimpse into the team with some athletic wings. If we can acquire a couple via draft or FA that are more talented, this could be a very exciting team. Unfortunately, I'm not convinced Carney is really that talented.

Maybe he's not as talented as some, but he's the perfect fit with what ideally would be a running 2nd unit. IMO Telfair is destined for a bench role eventually, an important role, but he's too small and too poor a shooter to be a full time starter on a championship team.

So the Wolves bench will eventually be Telfair, Miller, Carney and a defensive big (I'd use Love too.) That's a running unit, which Carney would fit perfectly with.

It's not just raw talent - Carney has proven he has enough talent to play in the league. If the Wolves can resign him for, say, 2 years, around the biannual exception, I think it would be a good move. If he wants more, he can try and find it.

Carney is this years Kirk Snyder! Keeps you interested by having a good couple of games against lesser foes but when matched up against better teams struggles with his offense.

Carney has 3 point range and is more athletic than Snyder. I like him as a sg/sf off the bench.

it is funny when he was palying well then the issue came up that the wolves would have to pay, now that he is not getting the minutes, he is a scrub again.... he should average at least 20 minutes a game.... he has one bad game and now McHale wants to bench him...... just cut him loose so another team can sign him already.....

I thought about that too, but in a slightly different way.

I enjoyed watching Snyder last year, but he was easily forgettable when he was gone this year.
