Do we make another trade or stand pat

Post#1 » by truthbtold21 » Fri Feb 6, 2009 6:15 pm

Something to think about,do we just ride it out the rest of the season with the roster we have, hope to re-sign ray at the end of the season or just let him walk.Does the FO really believe that ammo is worth keeping(he's not) can we really keep paying nazr the money he is getting paid to just mentor young guys and sit on the bench.Do we believe that sean may can get back in shape and add depth to the pf spot, or do we try and make splash before the feb 19 deadline.I see that phx is taking phone calls for amare, do we make that call,we can offer them what they want a veteran big(nazr) an expiring contract(sean may)and a young player who could use a change of scenory(ammo). Somethings to think about fellas,we are seeing what this team is about without another legit low post scorer.Diaw for all he does well has bein known to be (mia) sometimes, okafor does that sometimes as well.So do we hope when gforce gets back we get back to our winning ways, hope to re-sign ray at the end of the year, hope sean singletary can mold into a reliabe back up pg,hope we can draft a sg of the future.

Dont get me wrong there is no doubt that this team has improved(thanks to LB),but we need to be realistic we need to re-sign ray or get something for him, ammo is a bum and a bust lets just keep it real or like we say in the streets lets keep it 100, sean may as much as i love my tar heels this is about my bobcats and i havent seen him produce for them at all, nazr is getting paid to much to be another bump on a log taking up space on the bench.Thoughts bocats fans!!

:o :-? :-? I believe at this point Feltons trade value is the highest... I think he will ask for 8-10 million a season next year which the Bobcats would pay probably going same route on holding out like they did with Okafor. I think the smart thing would be to package morrison and may with him and trade them to a non lottery team before the deadline for a veteran point and power forward, but I really don't know to which team or for what players. They total 40+ on the trade checker. As for Diaw/Bell they are the best thing thats happened to this team this year and should be kept here. Raja would be a great veteran for a young 2009 lotto pick 2 guard to learn from and back up. Boris does nothing but make all his other teamates better every night.

That leaves Wallace-- and we now realize his value to our team, but we also realize what I've said since I started posting on thjis site. that is he is a highlight dunk away from being out of the league forever. Great Player/great person but gives up his body too much.. My heart says keep him.. my brain says trade him maybe with Nazr to another team for a veteran true power forward and move Diaw to the 3. Maybe the lakers for Odem /Powell might be interested?

Those are the exact thoughts going thru my head, also. Difficult decisions have to be made. What sucks is we have not been great with such decisions in the past. Signing Carroll to that Contract, keeping Ammo by picking up his option for next year, certain draft selections, etc... Part of me fears that if we keep Ray and pay him the big $, he will stop improving and also (Please Use More Appropriate Word) the growth of DJ. But watch us trade him or let him walk after this season and next thing you know he's an All-Star! It's almost like I expect this to be the way things go for us after we made bad draft decisions and left some great players out there to come and whip our asses when we play them. I'm just hoping that with LB, the RIGHT decisions are made. If that happens, and I have to trust him, then whatever we do, I'm going to go on faith and expect it to be the right move. But that is a big leap of faith. And gut wrench time is fast approaching.

My opinion on this hasn't really changed much over this season, if a good deal comes up then do it.

But don't trade just for the sake of it, only if we can get some value. I would trade everybody on the team if the price is right. But if it involves any of the normal starting five and DJ, my price would be pretty bloody high. I would want a star in return.

I'd like to see a trade, but I honestly wouldn't care if one didn't happen.

This team made one good (Richardson for Diaw) and one even (Matt for Diop) trade this season.

If I could ask for any move, it would be Nazr being traded for someone like Nick Collison or something. I realize thats easier said then done, but thats my opinion.

A move I would like to see that wouldn't exactly be ground-breaking earth-shattering crazy. Sean May to New Jersey for Sean Williams. I honestly believe that Williams just needs a chance of scenery and that the Nets could honestly cut him after this season ends (they have a lot of young frontcourt depth). Larry Brown is the type of veteran coach that could get to Williams. Even if he doesn't succeed...we only traded May for him.

Basically for the Nets this would be a salary dump off.

quite a pickle at the moment, but i do agree that Felton is at his highest value. Dj is the future and I've said it all along, Ammo is a complete waste of space (hasnt everyone been saying this except MJ?)

I could see a Morrison/Radmonovic trade going down.

it already did

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... &type=lgns

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)—The Charlotte Bobcats sent struggling forward Adam Morrison and reserve Shannon Brown to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday for forward Vladimir Radmanovic.

The move is the third trade the Bobcats have made this season in a roster shakeup under first-year coach Larry Brown.

Morrison was the third overall pick of the 2006 draft and managing partner Michael Jordan’s first major move since buying into the Bobcats. But Morrison had failed to crack the starting lineup and his minutes had declined under Brown.

Morrison will give the Lakers an outside shooting threat, while the 6-foot-10 Radmanovic gives the Bobcats more depth up front.

we really need to add some guard depth do this team.

we basically only have 4 guards on the team and that includes one, singletary, who has no business playing minutes right now.

HELP!!!

Agreed. I'd like to try and find a way to acquire someone like:

Thabo Sefelosha
Tony Allen
Mardy Collins
Devin Brown
Gerald Green
CDR
Renaldo Balkman
Anthony Parker
Jamerio Moon
Matt Barnes
Rodney Carney
Kelenna Azubukie

If nothing else, we need to try really hard to get some extra late 1st/early 2nd round pick this draft. There is some good talent to be had late that would help us out at the wings - like Christmas, Sam Young, Terrence Williams, Adrien etc.

Are there any other teams desperate to cut some salary???
They can have May's expiring, I know its not huge, but its better than nothing.

you'd think may's expiring deal could land us a decent sg.

Can we package McMay and Nazzy and land Larry Hughes?

That would seem perfect to me.

I don't think thats enough salary and Chicago wouldn't want Nazr's 6m on their roster when Hughes deal would've been expired. I agree it would be nice. A deal for Salmons would be great too.

True. I think it would have to be a three way, but I'm on my 6th rye and coke and can't be bothered working the trade machine hard enough to try and work something out!!

Problem we are about to have is that 7 players on our roster will have trade restrictions, which is going to make it near impossible to try and make any more trades work.

I'm giving my liver a break after last night. oh boy. Don't think I'd do the Stackhouse one. We're probably better off having no SG to speak of than Stack at this point.
