Randolph most underrated player in NBA?

First off, since this is my first post just wanted to say whats up ya'll!

Anyways, from what I've seen out of Zach Randolph with the clippers he is just an offensive machine! I know his defense isnt good but he crashes the boards well and he seems like he can score 20 points in his sleep! Not to mention he scores at a high percentage. I've been following the NBA for years but I never knew he was this good. I think being in New York and being in Portland when the blazers were bad put him somewhat in the darkness. After coming back from injury and missing so many games he hasn't lost his step. He is the MVP of this team, he does so much for this team as far as being a legitimate low post threat and opening up shooters off of double teams. What do you guys think? Who is more underrated than Z-BO?

Not underrated since people know he can do 20/10 with ease, but probably more under appreciated. It's probably due to his Portland years cause he's had no issues in NY, and he's been doing quite well here in LA.

He's definitely a keeper though as long as he doesn't get into any trouble. Maybe a lower salary too. Kinda high just for a guy who plays little defense.

Zbo should be included in our core for the future. This team, coached by Dun SR, needs that low post presence in order to succeed.

He has great 'traditional' low post skills, and good size/strength for a PF.

I think people have fallen in love with super-athletes who can do it all, but I think it's more important that a player has mastery of the basic skills at his position first, anything else is then of course a welcome bonus.

I don't consider him a black hole on offense in that he will look for the open man. He does take his time when he receives the ball in the post, but he know's what he's doing, has pretty good footwork, and has a nice soft touch.

Considering we basically got him for nothing, he is a very nice asset for the team as long as he behaves.

Zach has been known throughout his career as a good offensive player who can put up 20 & 10 with ease but is lacking on the defensive end. Thankfully we have Camby to counteract that. I was against bringing him over throughout all of the rumors during the summer and up until we got him. He was known to be a person of questionable character, a troublemaker, a player that puts up stats but not W's, a locker room cancer, etc.

He's been the total opposite of that on the Clips. We're an above .500 team when he is starting, his teammates play better with him on the court, he has said he would be more than willing to sacrifice if it contributed to wins (come off the bench/play less mins), and he has kept his nose clean so far. If he continues to stay out of trouble (off the court/in the locker room), then I am going to look forward to having him here for the next couple of seasons.

Thank you, mkw, for summarizing that so well --- I didn't know that Zach had said these things here, and they are the kinds of things that weigh heavily with me. It's always wonderful to see a player who can grow and mature after coming from difficult circumstances. Of course I appreciate the contribution he is making to the team while he is healthy, as I'm sure everyone else here does.
I made a real pain of myself here over acquiring him, and I couldn't be more delighted to have him prove me wrong.
So, welcome to the new and improved Zach Randolph, to the Clippers. And of course, welcome bbsee1 to the Clippers board. (I'm a great BBC World News fan myself, and try to watch it every day: it keeps me informed in a way I could never otherwise be.)
On the original question, though --- I don't think he is the most underrated player in the league, although I'm sure an argument could be made for it.
