The Rules

Here's the deal - after each win, we'll have a player of the game thread. You post the top 3 performers (1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place). The top-3 vote-getters will receive points...

1st place = 3pts
2nd place = 2pts
3rd place = 1pt

At the end of the season, I'll tally up the point totals and put it into a thread. We should have a good idea of who was the most valuable player, at least according to Wizards fans. :D

The poll winner is for posterity only. It has no affect on the recorded winner. If you want your vote to count, post the top-3 performers.

This might be the first-ever unanimous 1-3 vote.

I'll join the majority....

1. Caron - _____________
2. Antawn - Mr. Consistent
3. Young'N - Good scoring game, and the kid even threw in 3 rebounds to keep the haters quiet

Caron has a lot of nerve making a game winner and posting 35 and 13. He obviously can't grasp the team concept of tanking. :D

Anyways...

I think this might be the first thread where the entire board is in complete agreement.

Looks like Mike James has a realgm account

He did hit some nice shots after getting into early foul trouble. Obviously not enough to dethrone CB, AJ or NY, though.

Was at the game and would also like to give some credit to Crittendon. He did a great job IMO of settling us down in the second quarter after he took over for James. Its nice watching an actual pass first PG play on our squad once in a while. Not used to seeing that in DC.

Also, I think the most embarrasing thing I've seen in quite some time was late in the 3rd quarter when Jeff Foster faced up Antawn and blew straight past him. If he did get help D so Foster had to past, I just can't imagine how bad it would have looked to have Foster blow by him for the dunk.

Jamison is at the bottom of my list because he did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the 4th quarter. No points in the 4th and only 6 boards for the entire game. Some leader.

Listening to the call on the radio, I'm not sure that he touched the ball the last 5 minutes.

Not in green, so I'm thinking you're serious.

I think Jamison showed leadership by ignoriing that he had a season-high 34 by the third, but choosing to yield to Caron Butler who had the very hot hand in the fourth. Not forcing his shot and doing pretty much nothing was the best thing Jamison could have done in the fourth IMO. AJ had carried the team to that point, and could have easily gone for 40 points had he been selfish or stat-motivated. I like his fourth quarter because Indy was probably geared to stop him but he didn't force it.

There weren't many missed shots at all in the fourth, thus Jamison didn't have to do much but make sure to keep his man honest on the other side of the court, while Butler burned whoever tried to guard him. Also, Caron was a beast on the boards, too. Jamison got a day off from what he always handles IMO.

My order is like everybody else's:

CB
AJ
NY

Really great offense from all three guys.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Seriously...how does he have 2 votes?
