Getting a bigman to fill out the rest of the season

Post#1 » by Devilzsidewalk » Tue Feb 10, 2009 1:39 am

I'm gonna edit thread for trades for expiring bigmen for the rest of our season

Wilcox for Jason Collins

Wilcox is getting DNP cd's in OKC, maybe they'd be interested in a small trade, we could give Collins and a future 2nd or rights to Mavro or something small. Wolves will get Wilcox who will make the remainder of the season more excited with some power finishes around the hoop, but won't hurt our draft position because he doesn't play defense and we won't win any more games. It's win/win. Collins is probably a guy Scotty Brooks would like more anyways. And with Wilcox getting DNPs in a contract year, it's best to send him off before he starts bitching.

lowdown on Chris Wilcox: power finisher, but lacks skills. Doesn't play defense. Can score on PFs or Centers, but can defend neither. Expires after the season and should be attainable for a low price as he's completely out of the rotation

Sounds good.

Didn't you have an 82-0 team on 2k with Wilcox starting?

yes, Wilcox owned. With my brain and his body....unstoppable.

Here's another small trade:

Rashad McCants for Sean May

lowdown on Sean May: perpetually out of shape as he prefers the high life over taking his career seriously. Is a talented scorer on the block and has a jumpshot, but his stamina is non-existent and his defense is poor. He's been entirely out of coach Brown's rotation until he loses weight. He hasn't yet.

^ I mentioned that a few days ago (and today) in the McCants is being shopped thread. Makes too much sense.

Chris Mihm/Mbenga for McCants/Booth

if LAL doesn't want to pay Mbenga for next season. Mihm is not getting into LAL's rotation, even w/ Bynum out. He's got a little J I know, not sure what else he does.

I like the Wilcox and Rasho ideas so far. Keep 'em coming.

I like Brad Miller and I think he would look good here. I don't like his contract, though. I'm guessing we'd have to give up Mike Miller for him just to match salaries and I wouldn't want to do that.

Moore could work.

EDIT: Collins + Cardinal work for Miller. Would SAC be interested in that?

We would take collins cause he's expiring, but cardinal is not a great player to come to the kings. We wouldn't want miller in return though. Here are a couple of scenarios.

Miller for Collins, Booth and Carney

Moore for Collins, Carney

I think we would want a second rounder along with these trades, but I'm not sure if you have any.

I think finding a competant center is important for Love's development. Its too early for him to be facing double-teams. He doesn't have to be a longterm guy. Can Collins play at all, and/or would he just cause double-teams on Love all day?

What about Aaron Gray from Chicago could we get him; he would be ideal IMO.

Or maybe get Cedric Simmons, or Sean Williams, or Sene or Swift from to give a look at

Or we could just sign a few young centers and give them a chance like Courtney Sims, David Harrison, or a few others

So here's a thought:

Chi trades: Gooden, Simmons
Chi receives: Mike Miller

Min trades: Miller, Collins
Min receives: Miller, Simmons

Sac trades: Brad Miller
Sac receives: Gooden, Collins

It works in the trade checker and you guys get both a young and old big with only mike miller, who plays the same spot as gomes. Chicago gets another role player and kings get expirings. Thoughts?

I like Brad Miller, but not at the cost of Mike Miller. Wilcox is intriguing and I actually think Mihm might be a decent option.

As always there's McCants for Noah or McCants and Booth for Tyrus Thomas. Probably have to include Boston pick or a 2nd rounder in there.

^The Wolves would need to trade more than that to get Thomas. Smith and the Miami pick might interst them.

All I care about at this point is K Love getting big minutes.
