Is Shannon Brown a good addition?

Post#1 » by kevin_405 » Sun Feb 8, 2009 6:49 pm

Good riddance of the Deer in the headlights Rado.. We saved 6 million wow.. Way to go Kipthuck.. MJ do u ever think that the GM job is not for u...

We all know are not expecting much in terms of production as far as Adam morrison goes.. We have a lot of depth at SF PF position.. So he will not be used much this year...

So whats the low down on Shannon Brown . I hope he can give us some production especially if Farmar picks up those early and cheap hand checking fouls..

I think his handles are better than Mo Evans. That guy had to look down to keep from dribbling off his own feet.

Think Eddie House.
I live in NC now so I have been watching alot of Bobcats games.
As a matter of fact I have a feeling that is why they got him, or part of the reason why.
Ammo is purely for contract and is not an nba talent.

As a NBA GM it is hard to get every move right.. so I would give Mitch a A grade for getting Gasol , for Drafting Bynum, Signing Fish and Josh Powell, trading for Ariza.

There might be a few failures but they are not blunders that will hurt us for a long time like Isaih did with the Knicks.. Sun is a washout , Bynums contract is bloated, so is Lukes but thats a small price to pay for trying to keep good role contributors.. but we got a lot more in return..

Agreed Mitch has a good fulcrum with Kobe to run a team around but it takes a lot of smarts to pull off all these deals which at the end take u from a first round team all the way to the finals.. and also keep u a contender for another 2 years..

We always had a lot of depth at the Center PF and SF position.
I think Shannon Brown is a good insurance for guard position that too saving 8 million over the long run...

From what i hear Shannon Brown is athletic and is a good defender.. Ariza in the making.. Hopefully he will fill the hole if we are not able to resign Ariza..

Looks like another Von Wafer to me. Hopefully, a defensive version.

Shannon Brown has no defensive ability. I have no idea where these defensive talks came from. He's strictly offensive, like Morrison.

We are not looking for a James Posey.. we are looking for someone better than Farmar or Vujacic at defense.. which is not a big expectation... I am sure he will fit just fine..

Um, no, he probably isn't. I haven't seen much of Farmer but he is probably at least the same as Brown or better than Brown on defense. Again, I have no idea why Laker fans are excited about Brown's defense.....He has none. Just becuase he is black and athletic doesn't make him a good defender. He is just as lazy, low bball IQ as any other average guard you'll find. I'm not slamming the guy after he leaves or anything, but the Cavs wouldn't have cut him in preseason, and the Bobcats wouldn't have traded him if he's this great defensive guard you guys are making him out to be.

Ariza...he was a good defender before becoming a Laker..and LB didn't play him with the Knicks because he was lost and behind other forwards...Orlando fans thought Ariza was the best defender on the team...so its not like you found a gem in Ariza or you will find one in Brown.

U havent seen Farmar and Vujacic in defense either... and neither of them have BB IQ. They make shots thats it.. Both of them get stupid fouls by boding up or poking when not required..
In the Lakers defensive scheme which is mostly help defense they give no chance to the helper because they go for steals leaving the helper to man up and making it a 4 on 5..

Even Sun yue seems to have better defense than the two.. thats why we are optimistic about Shannon because we cant do worse..

The defensive talks come from Mitch Kupchak, who said that he likes Brown's defensive potential (or something along those lines).

SHANNON BROWN will be OUR VERSION OF EX BULL RANDY BROWN!

Post#19 » by thegamefritz » Mon Feb 16, 2009 1:45 pm

Shannon brown will play the same role as Randy brown played with the bulls-they got the same body type the same built and most likely the same personality..Shannon is just more athletic.. Shannon will bring energy, rugged defense, hustle bulky PG or SG from the bench just like old randy brown..We got Shannon for the main purpose of doing what RANDY BROWN DOES BEST for the BULLS and that is RUN, SHOUT like hell as if he was the one who lead the team, HIGH FIVE, and HUG MJ every time they win the FINALS. (Old randy brown just wanted to have an exposure). SO SHANNON SHOULD PRACTICE AND WATCH TAPES OF THE BULLS IN THE FINALS, ESPECAILLY WHEN THE GAME IS OVER. SO THAT HE COULD RUN AND HUG KOBE AND SHOUT LIKE HELL AFTER WE SWEEP THE BOSTON SHITICS OR LECHOKE QUEEN JAMES CAVS IN THE FINALS THIS JUNE..

maybe shannon brown has the 'ability' to become a good defender, but like vladi, seems to have mental lapses??
