What to do with...

Post#1 » by S.I.C. GM » Tue Feb 10, 2009 3:08 pm

Though I am not a big fan of Stro and have made many comments about him, I doubt he comes back.

But there is widespread speculation in the Nets' locker room that Swift will not return at all this season. One teammate, who requested anonymity, suggested, "It's my feeling that we've probably seen the last of Stro -- I'm hearing he doesn't want to play anymore this year."

Which means he may have already played his last game in New Jersey. Swift's contract, which calls for a $6.2 million salary this season, runs out at season's end. His expiring deal could be used as part of a trade.

If we dont trade him I say we waive him after Feb. 19. Let him deal with his family issues without the pressure of having to come back.

I read in another article today his mother died 2 weeks ago and is having a difficult time with it, which is 100% understandable. I know they're still trying to move his contract. We're not pushing to lux tax so if we couldn't move him, I'd be fine buying him out to deal with his situation just so we could sign a 3rd string PG at least.
