I'm really excited for JR in the dunk contest. It's been a while since we have had a Nugget doing any All-Star event, besides the actual game...

He should shoot a three pointer, let it go through the basket....catch it, go between the legs, and then dunk it. Just too bad he can't make wide open threes.

I was pumped when I saw this during the game tonight, I had no idea he was even being considered as a back up. Hopefully he's got something tricky up his sleeve. Throw him in the 3 point shootout too.

great for him - he got robbed badly on his behind the back dunk with the 45 score. should have been a 50.

Ok honestly, Jr's dunks sucked, I don't know how he managed to get 3rd, I thought even Fernandez's dunks were better. at Kenny saying "Who is this?" when he saw Weems.

Worst dunk contest ever. Anybody could jump off somebody's back. That's absurd.

It should have been a Rudy and Dwight final. Clearly it was set up to be a Nate and Dwight finish, regardless of what happened.

Howard's first dunk was the weakest dunk of the first round and it got 50.

Nate's only impressive dunk was over Howard. Jumping off that guy's back was just horrible.

Rudy's dunk was probably the second best after Nate's over Howard.

JR is better than he showed, but he doesn't belong on the big stage. You can tell by just watching him on the bench. Weems? Seriously? He had no intention on winning. His first dunk was underrated. Letting the ball bounce twice is a pretty neat trick. His second was weak. He should have tried to nail the original trick.

Didn't really like it either. Howard's 12 foot basket was cool. It was closer to 50 than the first dunk. His first dunk was a 40. Hate this coddling that's going on....Nate needs to step aside so a fresh batch of dunkers can come through. He really is kind of the Lex Luther of the dunk contest.

Next year, if Nate is in, he needs to dunk on an 8 foot basket. That WOULD be entertaining.

I honestly thought Howard was bringing out a second basket to dunk two basketballs at once.

Rudy would have made it through if he had got his dunk on the first try. And if the contest wasn't rigged.

What the hell is wrong with JR. You think after his first slam dunk contest disaster he would have learned a valuable lesson. Make sure your teammate is actually capable of throwing an alley oop pass. He looses one contest becaue of birdman and another because of weems.

When I saw Weems stand up i thought it was a complete joke. WTF. Where was Billups at. JR might have made the 2nd round if he would have had a decent passer and the contest wasn't rigged.

One last thought: If anyone else in the league would even think about jumping off someones back they would get a score of 20.

A friend of mine was at the Game and sent me some behind the scenes footage right before the Dunk Contest. He is some footage of Dwight Howard, Nate Robinson, and JR Smith practice some of their dunks before the went out on the main floor.

Hey, if Nate jumped off Bill Russel's back, didn't break his back, and still made the dunk, now that would be spectacular.
