I was watching NBA FASTBREAK and they started talking about trade rumors and they said VC was on the block and Houston has offered the Artest and fillers for VC.They said that Artest could get traded because he and TMac wasn't getting alone.I just wanted to let you guys no that you could have another reunion with TMac and VC.

Re: Vince Carter?
Only, Artest + Head + Barry + Alston for Carter/Dooling can be worked. We need to give up Rafer if we don't want to give up Battier. And if we give up Rafer Alston, then we need a back up PG AT LEAST in return. So I'm assuming Dooling fits that role.
New Jersey gets 2 expiring contracts at the end of this season, and 2 more at the end of next season. Unfortunately this move would make our financial status a disaster, as Carter is pretty much locked up for the next 4 years, but I guess if we're trying to win now, anything is worth it, right?

Re: Vince Carter?
Yeah, that filler will have to be Battier in order to get this trade to work. I don't think this rumor is true.

Are you kidding me...i would get rid of Rafer if i have a chance to keep Battier. I never EVER like Rafer ...i prefer Brooks because he's aggressive attacking the basket.

Re: Vince Carter?
hahah what?? How about trading tmac for VC....work the salary on that....letting rafer go and getting dooling back is also garbage. WTF wants dooling?? Have you guys seen him play? I'd rather have mike james....and I'm dead serious

Like I said.....
Artest + Alston + Barry + Head for Carter and Dooling works financially, so we wouldn't have to add in Battier.

I doubt anything with Carter happens, but he'd be nice for Artest, just a MUCH better player.

Yeah sure, but the Nets won't take that offer.

Re: Vince Carter?
2009
my plan:
Replace Adelman with Avery Johnson
i'll let Artest walk if he wants more than what he has at the moment.
Sign Von Wafer on the longer term
Maybe do a S&T for a better PG with Alston and Head (if he does resign for the min) going the other way.
(Which PG in league is starting material but not starting? suggestions?)
Try to draft or sign a big since deke is retiring. Sign Deke as a coach.
Try my best to bring Thibo* back to help the crappy defense.
2010
Tmac's contract: if he wants more than the MLE, bye bye Tmac.
Use whatever is remaining to get a better player. We'll probably not get Wade, Lebron or bosh. If we can get Wade, i'll be absolutely delighted. but i think we can use some of the money to get someone like TJ Ford or Joe Johnson.
Yao will most likely opt out - will resign him.
btw, when does battier's contract end? it's seems like forever.

Best thing I've heard in weeks. I like AJ, great coach, and doesnt sway like his mentor Pop. Thibo won't come back...isn't he coaching for the celtics? Why leave a championship team for the same position on a crappy team? Good plan though.

Re: Vince Carter?
I use to be a Toronto fan even before Tmac and Vince decided to mess up their time with the Raptors...
the fact that our defense is the problem
so i pains me to say that... Vince Carter and Tmac reunion may not be a bad thing for the team right now...
I think it is obvious the team needs to shake things up with the way they are playing...
basically most know we have to make a trade now...
smart money says it would have to be Artest with his expiring contract this year... has his play been affected by his injury...probably... but he has been a ball stopper and has taken many boneheaded shots this year
Tmac is more valuable right now as a expiring contract in 2010... injured? lazy? in decline? or scared? anyone really care now?...
Yao wont be going anywhere... and really we need to give him a chance to lead the team... before thinking of shipping him off...in the next 3 to 5 years....
granted Vince Carters contract is going to be a burden... but were not going to get any big name free agents in 2010 willing to come here without us trading for them... just look at our free agent signings the last 5 years...
so lets shake up the team get Vince right now( volume shooter and non defender that he is) ... if it dosent work out we have Tmac and his expiring 2010

Re: Vince Carter?
Yao will not go for 2 reasons...
1. It's hard to find a good center these days
2. Commercial value. I was just looking at some stats the other day and it appears to me that Rockets games seem to heavily telecast in China. Also, Yao is the 1st pick and he is from China... Making him stay in Houston is good for the city and the franchise. He is one of the icons of there overtime. I bet there are like so many more people around the world especially China being aware of the city called Houston since Yao started playing for the Rockets. He brings so much commercialization with him. Yao is a market himself. Just look at the shoe deals, how many rockets are benefiting from him? Example: Hayes, a literally unknown with little firepower.
It would not only be the rockets' loss but Houston's loss if we let Yao go.
