No I'll explain... All Star is a festive where there's a lot of exposure... cameras... it's good if he can show up.
Nene's wedding is private... he's a private person and I bet he'd rather have it private... I don't think anyone would show up.
Dahntay Jones doesn't matter, Melo on the other hand is the team's best player... by not showing up it says a lot that he has this personal accolade that he still puts high on his agenda... although he's no longer a prima donna like Amare.
- Not showing up unless you name me to the All Star team = "I am going to sulk in Denver because you don't make me All Star... I'm not going. I'm a kid who sulks because mommy is not going to let me play"
- Showing up = "I don't care about All Star, it's not high on my agenda, I'm here to enjoy myself, to cheer my teammate Chauncey"
It's about perception... it's important. Him being the best player on the team, that perception is very big, not only among the fans but also the organization, his teammates, etc
No he's not going to be traded because of this or we're going to have a collapse in the second half NO. But if he shows up, his maturity will shoot up the roof... instead of not showing up, it says a lot about how he has not really progressed although he has become much better in terms of being a team player.
I'm just saying, if he doesn't show up, it says a lot about his immaturity... like a kid who will lock himself in his room because his parents don't let him play his PS3, or if he shows up, it'd be great.
