42-9! Rest Kobe for the season.

We now are assured of a +.500 record.

Hypothetical question. Do you think if Kobe Gasol Odom did not play the rest of the way and we get an 8th seed but their legs are fresh for the playoffs (since they won't play for more than two months).... Will that offset any homecourt advantage from the opposing team?

Dallas tried "resting" in 2007 after having an amazing record....

"Resting" does not work. They would just be flat coming back, we would probably have no momentum going into the playoffs and our chemistry would be questionable. I'm sure their minutes will be cut down as the season goes on. They'll get enough rest.

Also, they're playing for the #1 record - home court advantage is damn important and no, it won't offset home court advantage.

I'm not smart enough to figure out if this is a joke or not. It has to be, but with the Internet, you never know.

Agreed, home court advantage is very important, so the Lakers need to go for the #1 seed. Especially in the Finals (2-3-2 format), if the lakers win their first two home games, that puts a tremendous amount of pressure for the opposing team to win 3 games in a row or be forced to win two on the road.

Kobe & Gasol need to play vs Memphis on April the 12th - I'm coming from Spain to attend the game!!

But yeah I agree, momentum > resting for so long.

There's this thing called a business, how many good-money-paying-customers are going to want to see a Laker team with Farmar being the cornerstone?
