I'd love to see it, but who plays C/PF next to Amare...? Include Bass and I'm down

Terry isn't gonna be out for too long from what I gather.
If we get Kidd, there's no need to keep Nash anymore, so we link him up with his buddies Bell and Diaw in Charlotte for Okafor...

Kidd/Barbs
J-Rich/Barnes
Hill/Dudley
Amare/Admunson
Okafor/Lopez

Very nice mix of passing, defense, and offense = very well balanced team = back to revelancy

Let's do it! We will give them Dragic, he is after all the 2nd best PG in last years draft. Their PG problem is fixed, Dragic and "little biatch" Barea.

^^ Actually that is a good deal for the Mavs because Dragic would be an improvement over Kidd D wise and Drag is faster with jest as good ball handling and passing.

^ Not to mention insane hops and potential to be a defensive player of the year. Move over Manu for crafty lefties...

I posted in the Amare thread yesterday, but already it's like 40 pages deep :p

I would expand a Shaq - Iverson deal to include Barbosa and McDyess as well.

- Phoenix gets a very capable bigman who can defend, rebound, hit the outside jumper, and play second fiddle to Amare offensively. Phoenix also gets a combo guard who can not only replace Barbosa's production, but is more capable of playing the point for spot minutes.

AND both contracts are expiring, saving the Suns $8M ($4M plus tax) this season and $26M (plus any tax) next season.

Someone mentioned though that there's no way in hell Detroit would do it, but realistically, if you were a GM you would have to at least think about it for the following reasons:

- Detroit currently is guard-heavy and lacks a true interior scorer to pair with Wallace. Making the trade gives them balance by switching a high pofile combo guard and adequate big for an adequate combo guard and a high profile big. It should help in the playoffs, too.

- While Shaq's age is of concern, the same can be said of both Iverson and McDyess as well. All three afforementioned players have started to show signs of deteriation, however Shaq is arguably playing at the highest level of the three.

- It's generally accepted that you win whenever you can trade small-for-big - especially when the big is playing at an all star level this year.

- In 3 years time, it's conceivable that Barbosa will be the only involved player still in the league, by which time he will be in his prime.

- Shaq's contract next season will be one of, if the the single largest expiring contract around, which will be extremely sought after going into the 2010 free agent market.

And come on, how could you not love the big Diesel in he motor city?

:D

It's pretty clear where he'll play and where he won't.....i.e. warm weather, metropolitan cities..... I mean you have to be kidding me to think that Shaq would report to the OKC Thunder if they traded for him. Give me a break.

um yeah.. Shaq to Jazz/Thunder is something that will never happen. He said it himself that he wants to go to warm weather cities only.

A trade with Dallas might make sense. We'd have to take Damps and take Stackhouse (or some combo) but if it gets us below the lux it will give sarver what he wants.

Shaq should be the first priority in being traded. Well first porter, then Shaq. If we're talking in the sense of rebuilding a team then you trade your oldest player nine out of ten times, and every time if the player has a high price tag. Sarver totally wants Shaq out of here.

Not that this trade has any chance of happening but...Would the Suns theoretically be interested in something where the Celtics send them Ray Allen + some combo of Tony Allen/Big Baby/Scal/Giddens/other filler for Shaq + maybe one of Hill/Barnes? Would that defeat the purpose of unloading Shaq's contract by replacing it with Ray's?

I think we're helped by the fact that Shaq has shown he can still give you 25-30mins a night of QUALITY NBA C play; and he'll ALWAYS sell jerseys/put bums on seats. So any team that trades for him will have people lining up to say they saw Shaq play...And his contract is 2010 friendly, so who knows, a team might take a flier on him. I think he'd be scary next to Duncan in SA (no contracts match though) or back with LAL...

I'd love Odom here too...back to small ball and running the break!!

Just to let you know if they do trade Shaq they are not going to get any young talent for him... He will be simply a salary dump nothing more...

Like this deal http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... eId=brney8

Also aspect Wally to get a Buyout and go back to the Cavs, Saving the Suns even more money
And when Snows disability is granted from the nba, the insurance picks up his contract.

So if they did this trade they can dump off (around) 34 million of Shaq's contact.
