If he doesn't win ROY (provided he doesn't fall off in the 2nd half of the season), it'll be because other rookies reputations precede them. But based on his minutes and the major role that he has played for this team.... EJ 4 ROY!

Rose and Mayo seem to be the other main contenders at this point. They are having pretty good seasons themselves, plus do have the benefit of their reputations going into the season. They are better statistically overall, but EJ is a late comer this season. With the number 6 pick we definitely go one of the top 3 players in the draft IMO.

With a guy like him, I almost don't really care if he wins ROY. I mean of course I'd like him to, but he's is basically a bonafide NBA baller already (like those other 2 guys.) He's not a 'promising young player' like Thornton was last year, this guy has already shown he belongs in the NBA. You can tell that he has adjusted to the pace, skill, and size of the NBA game- he looks comfortable out there like few rookies do.

I'm sorry to have missed this game --- and have enjoyed reading through this thread (thanks to all contributors) to follow it belatedly. Had to get up really early and the game ran late here.
Wonderful to see Baron with 20 assists! That's the point guard I want to see on my team. Well done.
I'm so happy that EJ continues to impress. Like some of the rest of you, I didn't see him coming, and have been thrilled with how splendidly he has done for us this year. It's the one benefit of having so many guys injured for so long --- it did give opportunities for lots of minutes to our young guys, and EJ surely did make the best of those minutes and came along at a ferocious pace.
I've had a soft spot for Novak ever since his rookie year with the Rockets when he participated gamely and hilariously in a 12 Days of Christmas parody promotion for the team. I don't know how many times I watched that thing and got a good laugh every time. Great to see him contributing so well to the Clippers now.
Congratulations to the whole team on a fine win.

Winning 3 out of 4 going heading into the all-star break aint bad.

By the way, why is every calling Eric Gordon EJ? Isn't it supposed to be EG?

^ He's been known as EJ for a long time. People try to correct me when I call him that like "Isn't it supposed to be EG?" It could be either, though

"EG" definitely doesn't have the same ring as EJ does, though. What can I say... the J's are what makes the name, baby!

I made the EG mistake when we first drafted him as well.

I'm also happy that we have won 3 of our last 4. Good way to go into the all star break. I'm excited to watch Gordon and Thornton in the rookie game tonight. It's been awhile since we've had a Clipper participate in all star weekend.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
