Falcons sign offensive tackle from Czech Republic

The Falcons signed offensive tackle Will Svitek Thursday.

Svitek (pronounced SVEE-tech) was originally selected by Kansas City in the sixth round (187th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft. A native of Prague, Czech Republic and a graduate of Stanford University, Svitek (6-foot-6, 300 pounds) has competed in 16 contests, with four starts, over four NFL seasons. He was waived by the Chiefs at the conclusion of training camp before last season.
