Should this prediction count towards everyone's total, or just the winner's?

Pacers Psychic Predictions: All-Star Special

Post#1 » by Miller4ever » Thu Feb 12, 2009 7:49 am

Congratulations to Gremz for a win in an otherwise upsetting loss.

Guess the All-Star Game margin! The winner will get a bonus 5 points taken off of their total point score, which could mean the edge towards the end of the season.

West by 4. The East will make it close, but with two injured first selections, the size of the Western Conference will once again reign supreme.

Can you clarify, to be the "winner" must you guess the margin EXACTLY, or is the closest guess considered the winner? If you are taking 5 points off for the winner, does that mean all the wrong guesses still count toward a person's average?

Regardless, I will take the West by 7.

Winner is always the closest, and there can be more than one. I didn't really understand the second part of your question, or the second question, rather.

To combine both questions, what I meant was:

Is this prediction, going to be like a normal Pacer prediction, where your guess counts towards your season standings or is it going to be like a bonus prediction (like a bonus question on a test) where if you get it wrong it wont count against you in your season average, but if get it right it will lower your season average (via the 5 point bonus). If it was acting as a bonus prediction, I thought you might have to get the guess EXACTLY right to be declared the winner.

I am getting the impression your intentions were for it to be the same as a normal game prediction though. And sorry to the posters who hate long posts!!!! :D

Ah...gotcha.

I intended it to be a regular prediction, where everyone's guess counts. This game is a wild card that could really shake up the standings, but I'll leave that choice up to the people.

^^No, that wasn't sarcastic at all...

Haha. Voting happens up top. As soon as I get 5 opinions, the decision will be made.

I think it should count.

I'm going West by 14.

West by 13, but Danny will beat Reggie's All-Star game high (was it 9 points?)

I forgot to vote, and this is too late, but I would've done East by 8. Right now the West is up by 12, but it'll happen. Again THIS ONE DOESN'T COUNT, I WAS LATE! I will delete my post if you want me to.
