Grade the 1st Half of the Season

Post#1 » by HuggyBear1688 » Thu Feb 12, 2009 9:55 pm

Well, The Bobcats are 21-31 and Sitting 4 1/2 games out of the 8th seed, given the circumstances of injuries, a new system, and a new coach, Bobcats could of easily been close to .500 if not for long term injuries to J-Rich(early this season), DJ, Wallace, and Raja Bell. I give the Bobcats a C+ so far this season, and if Wallace and Bell come back fully healthy after the break, then I think the Cats are a team to be reckoned with the rest of the year and should challenge for a Playoff spot, GO CATS!!!

I think when they come back healthy they should go on a run. If it's enough to make the playoffs I am not sure but I do know that they are better then the 8th team if it's another team.
Meaning if they started off this way and next year it's playoffs from here out.

Well in school D is passing with a 65. Therefor I would say they were about a D-
Thing is after the break I believe the new squad will be over 500. I do believe will be over 500 from here out which should be enough espially if some of our competitiors like the Buck or Nets make some moves to save money then we should be right up there.
Were the only team trying to get better besides the contenders and Mavs instead of trying to save money.

So, we're what, 21-31 now? I don't know what the final number to get the # 8 seed will be, but as a usual thing, you need a .500 record. We have 30 games left. So... we have to go at least 20-10 over the last 30 to get to .500.

Considering all of the special circumstances of this year- the injuries to key players, learning Larry's system, and the getting used to new teammates on an ongoing basis, I have to give the guys a solid C at this point. To the coaching staff, I have to give a higher grade. They have not given up on the season, and I think a lot of our holdover players are truly "getting" the system. Emeka seems to be having a little more confidence in the offensive post, Raymond is looking better as a distributor, DJ is DJ- a very good young point with a good work ethic, and the surprise of the season so far- Crash has totally justified his contract with his play and his adaptation to Coach Brown's "Play the Right Way" philosophy. And his tutelage doesn't end there! He has coached the front office well in the types of players he needs to succeed. And he has done it quietly- none of this calling someone out business. To Larry Brown, an A++!

Now, at the end of the season, if the Cats can accomplish that 20-10 final 30 games, I'll have to give them an A++ for the season.

Claw on Team!

C, we are making a playoff "run" after the break. I didn't expect for us to be in the playoffs at this point in the season, but with all of the change/injury C is a good score.

I guess I never posted in this thread, so I'll say C-.

It would be higher, but they got off to a poor start, and I grade on what's been done, not what they are expected to do. If they perform as I hope, that should be up to around a B+ by the end of the season.
