I find it very upsetting that Greg Oden took Jason Thompsons spot on the rookie roster (with slightly better numbers for JT, but no Hype), then Oden takes the game off with an "injury". That would have been a great start to putting the Kings back on the national map. Unfortunantly it seems that the NBA has turned their back on the Kings. What would it have hurt to have Martin in the 3 point competition? Or JT over Oden? Or even have Hawes there over someone like Brooks?
I guess my question is has the NBA forgotten or turned their back on the Kings, and to some degree the city of Sacramento?
Is anyone else upset that Oden was a "late scratch" tonight?

Most people in this country still think the capital of California is LA. Hell, I didn't even know that Sacramento was the capital until the 4th grade.
I guess the answer is no, they didn't forget us because they never even knew us in the first place.

Oden banged his knee last game, this was hardly some grand conspiracy.
And when you are 11-43 its kind of tough to complain about the legaue not thinking you are full of guys deserving to go to All Star weekend.

Besides, Kevin Love would have gone before JT.
I just totally felt like Marc Gasol was so underserving to be there.

Like Smills is suggesting, you're making a big assumption that JT would have been the automatic replacement. Yes, he's having a good rookie season. But not so great that he unquestionably deserves to be in the game.
And you ask "what would it have hurt to have Martin in the 3-pt competition"? Uhh...what exactly has he done to deserve to even be mentioned as a "top 3-pt shooter". Frankly, Troy Murphy is a better 3-pt shooter than Martin.

This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Smills is completely right on this one. Love would have easily been the pick over thompson purely because of him name. Gasol shouldn't have been there IMO. I also thought that the sophs could have used a big man (spencer hawes), but whatever.

If Jason continues on his present pace and holds the starting spot next year, he will start getting more call respect from the refs and he will see the game next season as a sophomore with at or close to double-double numbers.
