OT: The Saints Media Lovefest Continues

In the stifling heat of Jackson, Miss., the Saints are preparing for a legit run to the Super Bowl.

And there isn't a person who appreciates it all more than Deuce McAllister.

The longtime Saints running back is now 100 percent healthy and geared toward having a tough, physical season in Sean Payton's attack as a perfect compliment to Reggie Bush.

You would think with all this media love the Saints would be a very successful franchise with tons of Super Bowl rings.
Well, the Saints have never won a Super Bowl in their 40 year franchise nor have they ever been to the Super Bowl. Actually they have only been to the playoffs 6 times.

I don't understand why the media is all over the Saints when we get no respect.

Just last year, all of ESPN's "experts" picked the Saints to beat us even though we were clearly the favorites with a domed team coming into a cold stadium.

The Bears are not mentioned once in this article. They are still clearly the better team.

you mean in a preseason article written specifically about the Saints, it's an injustice that the Bears aren't mentioned?

Can't really say I agree with you here, SW. The Saints are a very, very good team and should be mentioned as Super Bowl contenders in the NFC

We were the #1 offense in the L. We have flashy players. Ofcourse were going to get media attention. It doesn't mean were a better team.

We beat them fair and square yet ESPN still treats them as the better team.
We traded Thomas Jones and ESPN makes it seem like such a big deal yet they lost one of their core wide receivers Joe Horn in the offseason (Yes I know he was old)

YPG wise. I don't think we are better than the Colts on offense.

I have nothing against the Saints or New Orleans it's just the media takes it too far.
This team isn't good because they're playing "for the city", etc. They are good because they have a good team and a good coach.

The Bulls were also not mentioned in this article. Hell, they even forgot about the Cubs! What the hell Foxsports, why all of the Chicago ignoring man?!

On Paper? How bout in reality.

Don't worry SW I'm with you. This is typical ESPN. If the article was written the other way around there most certainly would have been mentions (rightfully so) of the Saints, Cowboys etc.

BTW, last year heading into the seaon ESPN had the Bears ranked 6th in the NFC. So much for their analysis.
