This years Dunk Crock!

Post#1 » by kam_soluusar » Sun Feb 15, 2009 8:24 am

Well, another year has passed, filled with disappointment. I will be so annoyed if Nate Robinson is in next years comp. I swear I am sick of seing his midget head at A/S weekend. But sure, let's give him a 5th year straight, really showcase the leagues talent.

I propose that Next year consists of Lebron, Kobe, Igodala, and Luol Deng. There would be a Dunk Comp to watch.

Hey, I can't wait to see Dwight do another Superman routine! That's not played out at all! Maybe, just MAYBE the judges can hand him better scores than he deserves based on his reputation!

Wooohoooo!

As to your point about next year involving Kobe, Lebron and Iguodala, yes I agree....at least Lebron said he intends to compete in it next year, FINALLY. I'm glad he finally grew a pair of real balls, not just the Golden Balls the entire media and nation have been sucking on since he came into the league. Hopefully Kobe will do the same.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

It's not really surprising, the dunk contest has been lame for a while now. I'm gonna agree with RaoulDuke and say the whole Dwight Howard superman thing is getting stale. The first superman dunk was overrated ( would have been nothing special w.o the costume) and now its just really getting old. Don't even get me started on Nate Robinson... the guy only wins these competitions because he's a midget.

in game dunks are always more exciting anyways.

He can win by default, easily.

Also, Nate Robinson deserved it.

The whole weekend so far was epic fail IMO. The HORSE competition ended up being a 3 point shoot out instead of it being a game where players match creative shots after creative shots. The skills competition was good. The 3 point shoot out...everyone was cold. And the dunk competition....well that wasn't good..mostly b/c Dwight made the difficult look easy....very easy.

maybe they should just get rid of the event altogether and give all the players a weekend off.

the best thing that happened this weekend is stern's anniversary. the whole event was setup to celebrate his 25 years!
I hope Yao will tell him that his referees stink.

Luol Deng? Are you kidding me? He would be worse than Rudy Fernandez.

Nate Robinson deserved it and not because of his height. The dude's vertical is 42+ inches. He doesn't just get up there and dunk it, he powers it through. How many people 5'7 can jump over someone 6'10? Not only that, he jumped from a distance too. Had Dwight done the 12 ft rim dunk in the final round, he would have won it easily. But his last dunk was probably one of the most anti-climatic dunks in dunk contest history.

This was the worst All-Star event ever in the NBA. There was really no dunk that standed out and all of the players could have done better.

Are you kidding? That would be horribly boring. None of those guys have enough athleticism or creativity to do much in a dunk contest.

I appreciate Nate's effort but I think the Dunking Contest is going in a wrong direction.
