Would you be happy with the lakers starting center with the following averages over a 10 year period:

33.8mpg, 20.6ppg, 7.6rpg & 2bpg

kaj's number over the LAST 10 seasons of his career.

well, it looks like u weighted each season equally even though he didn't play the same amount of games each yr.

ignoring that, KAJ's durability during that span (age 32-41) is amazing. he played an amazing 78.8 games per season. the averages you quoted really take a hit when he got into his 40's, putting two seasons of 14.6/6 and 10.1/4.5. at bynum's' age, KAJ's rookie yr, KAJ put up 28.8/14.5. over those next 3 yrs, he missed a total of one game. man, if bynum could just have that durability, forget those astronomical numbers.

yeah, his numbers definitely took a hit in the last two seasons but the 10.1/4.5 in his last season was done in only 22mpg (anyone that watched his final year know that those minutes were pretty much maxing him out).

here's the averages over his first 10 years:

41mpg, 28.6ppg, 14.9rpg, 3.5bpg (that's his average over 6 years since tracking of the stat started in 73-74)...............i also didn't take the time to figure out his assists but it looks like something close to 4.5apg

Kareem doesn't get nearly enough credit for his longevity. Such a freak of nature. I can never decide which is more impressive -- outplaying a Hall of Fame center to win the Finals MVP at 37, or averaging 23 points in 79 games at 38. It'll be a long, long time before you see anybody match either of those feats.
