TMAC needs microfracture surgery?

Post#1 » by alex_cheung » Tue Feb 17, 2009 5:45 am

"According to Team Doctors: TMAC need's microfracture surgery

Hi everyone, I don't post much on this thread
but ive been keeping up with this site since 1999

My older brother works at the Houston Medical Center and had a conversation with one of the Rocket's team doctor's. According to that Doctor, TMAC will need to get microfracture surgery and could be out ATLEAST one year, probably more.TMAC is currently looking for a second opinion from another doctor before he announce's this publicly.

I'll let everyone if I hear anything new."

Personally speaking ,i would like to believe this poster is lying to us,but who knows the truth?
if this is ture,i understand why the Rockets chose to keep it secret,it could impact their trade talks.

Well this has been known for a while, and he is waiting to see what else can be done, or if he will be able to rest a while and come back for Playoffs

Sorry guys, but if this 'news' is true, I'd be the first to admit that the chances of our beloved TMAC ever stepping on a basketball court as a player are very slim, probably none.

I saw the thread over there, I'm not doubting your source, but I'm not buying it just yet, McGrady claimed surgery would be the last option, and frankly something the "McGrady" camp isn't even considering right now, especially after the 100th MRI showed what it's showed from the beginning, no structural damage. For T-Mac's sake, let's hope your source is wrong, because frankly like sd1306 posted, his career would be over, since as evidenced by a minor surgery in the off-season, he's not a fast healer, and after a major surgery like that, which actually requires a year of rehab, he wouldn't come back until 10/11 season where he'll have nothing left in the tank.

if it's true then he'll need at least 1 year to recover
he can come back in 2011 as free agent and take the role like Grant Hill

T-Mac has coasted along his whole career. he has taken free money and taken it straight to the bank. People have paid and traveled to watch him play, only to be disappointed by his lack of effort. he was a waste of talent, and frankly, i hope he does get injured, and i hope his career is over. he is a disgrace to competitive sports, and I dont believe he deserves to have a career.

Wow, I do not care how much you dislike a person. You should NEVER wish something bad on one person.

I doubt this. What is happening to McGrady this season is what happens to athletes that don't rehab. I think there being no change in the MRI results means there is nothing there that a strong rehab regiment couldn't change. I'd have to wait and see something official. Right now this just seems like inaccurate information.

And this doesn't affect trade talks b/c nobody is inquiring about McGrady. So thats not the reason this news is not in the media. The more likely reason is that there isn't anything wrong. McGrady didn't care this summer to rehab and thats one of the many reasons why we are where we are.

Heh, a good priority re-evaluation wouldn't hurt you at all.

really? do i sound like the bad guy here. people who work there asses off every day spend money to watch him play. we dont all have 21 million dollars in the bank. I spent almost 200 dollars for two tickets, drove all the way to atlanta to see him play, and he was half asleep the whole game. This was while i was still in college, so 200 bucks wasnt easy to come by. People are starving all over the world, and these starving people, if given tmacs talent, would fight in every basketball game to the very end just to put some food on the table. Tmac didnt do that. he hardly every gave full effort. Maybe i dont wish his career to be over, but if you were to ask me who in the nba deserves to not have a career, it would be tmac. hes ****. why would you make so much money, have fans come from all over the world to see you, and drop some of those low energy performances he always does. if his career truely is over, i wouldnt laugh out loud when i heard about, but in my mind ill be laughing a little bit, because he is getting exactly what he deserves. you dont want to use your God given ability, then you shouldnt have it

if we found out his career was over we would all probably just say "finally".. finally we know for certain it was over no more hoping, no more waiting, no more wondering if tonight is the night.. we could move on

You're such a douche. So he didn't live up to your expectations, it's still no excuse to be wishing a career ending injury on someone. It sounds to me like he **** your mother or something. Chill out and grow up.

hey guys, all these mixed reports on the injury...how is New Jersey offering Carter for T-Mac? Why would that news come out today given the "common knowledge" that T-Mac is likely to shut down for the season. HOw could they entertain that? Makes it seem like the injury isn't as serious as this site is blowing it up to be
