What about a points league?

We should definitely have it different from last year, because it did suck balls. That was mostly due to the set the roster at the beginning of the week thing, but I think it would be more fun as a high scoring points league or even roto.

I'd prefer a points league, but wouldn't mind roto either. It should definitely be different from last year, though.

Also, GYBE did you see what PECOTA projected for Wieters this year? LMAO.

Alright here it is...

How does Rotisserie League scoring work?

In a league using Rotisserie scoring, fantasy teams are ranked from first to last in each of several statistical categories. Each fantasy team receives points in each category based on how they rank in the league. Each team's category points are totaled to determined their overall rotisserie score.

The maximum number of points that a team can earn is equal to the number of scoring categories within a league multiplied by the number of teams in the league. Similarly, the lowest number of points that a team can earn is equal to the number of scoring categories multiplied by one, which is the lowest score that can be achieved in any category.

If you are in a 12-team league, the team with the most home runs will receive 12 points, the team with the second most will receive 11 points, etc. In the case of a tie, each team involved receives an average of the total points due—i.e., in the above example, if two teams were tied for first in homers, each would receive 11.5 points [(12 + 11) / 2 = 11.5].

So, if you were playing in a league with 12 teams and 12 scoring categories, the lowest point total possible is 12 [12 * 1 = 12] and the highest is 144 [12 * 12 = 144].

Rotisserie standings reflect cumulative season stats and not any single-day accumulation of stats. Your rotisserie total may rise or fall from day-to-day depending on how your rank in each category was impacted by the addition of stats from the most recently completed day.

So basically in short, its a more a full-season orientated league. No team vs. team match ups, your fighting the entire league the whole way. It kinda reflects the whole 'marathon' aspect of baseball.

I changed it, so you guys take a look at the scoring and let me know what you think?

i've never heard of a points league, is that the same as rotisserie?

i've been in rotisserie in the past, no playoffs if i remember

the end of the year will probably be less exciting because fewer teams will be able to play for first, for example a team that would be the last in the playoffs for h2h would probably not be able to catch the leaders in roto
because the top teams would be fairly established
the beginning would be exciting though

my 3 cents

I'm Orlando Lightning. I know it sounds weird, but I just really love the city of Orlando and I've always thought about moving down there at some point.

I think we should have a vote on roto vs. H2H.

I've played in both and usually h2h is a lot more fun. Not only are you playing against other managers, but more people stay in the hunt for the championship longer. If you have an awful first half of the season, you can't come back in roto. But you could still sneak into the playoffs and have a shot in h2h.

Roto guarentees the actual best team will win, but I think h2h would keep more of the league interested down the stretch. If our fantasy basketball league was roto, I'd basically be guarenteed the championship already. But since there's playoffs, anything can happen. And yes, that's my way of reminding everyone the beatdown I'm putting on you all.

I vote H2H too. Seems like the vote is unanimious, or at least it is with htose caring to vote. I'll change it to H2H when I get home and if anyone opposes state your case.

anymore than 13 and the teams are going to be pretty subpar. 12 has been the most I've ever done. It makes the most sense to have an even number.
