Joe Smith is no longer an option

He was traded to New Orleans today and the Hornets will not release him.

Yup...Chandler is a good pickup for OKC relative to what they gave up.

With Amare off the table now bigs are looking pretty scarce right now...looks like we were 1 year too late for a Gasol type deal.

After all the flack Memphis got for 'giving away' Pau I'm not surprised.

This economic climate will only get worse. Just look at how the Hornets gave away Chandler today. There will be plenty of opportunity for Ferry to swoop in and make some good deals in the next year. He still has plenty of expirings. Ben Wallace is a huge expiring contract for 2010.

We need to make a move for a big. We have no fall-back Joe Smith plan anymore. Wally, or Snow's contract have to be moved for a big ASAP.

Utah fans don't seem to mind that trade. I know it would be hard for some of us to accept him back, but you have to admit that he would be the missing piece. This would make Cleveland the favorite for the next few NBA Titles.

That's the deal we offered for STAT, plus AV. The reason our trade talks for STAT have died down is because Ferry refused to include AV for the STAT trade. No way does he do it to get Boozer back here.

If you took andy out of that trade I would do it.

I don't get why people are so willing to give away AV. AV is our (best) young big, runs the court extremely well, and scraps like hell. Additionally, he has developed a decent jump shot and gains in his game have been made in leaps from last year to the present day. He has a lot of value, AV isn't a throw in. Also, with Big Ben probably gone after next year, AV plays a critical role for this club.

Okay, either we are going to have a trade thread and all trades go there or we can have individual threads. We won't have both. I'm tired of moving these and people starting new ones.

Trading AV + to get Boozer is just dumb to me.
