Maybe Shaq is not such a bad idea...

Post#1 » by Amon_Ones88 » Tue Feb 17, 2009 9:03 pm

First off I wanna say he has won four championships on two teams....
And don't you think Shaq could help us here. He would be cheap. Trade Wally, Darnell, Wright and Sasha and a first round for him and Brook Lopez. We add Youth and a whole lot of height to our team and get rid of some Riff Raff. (No offense Lorenzen) Suns will add some youth and promise (Sasha and DJ), keep some veteran leadership (with Wright), get rid of Shaq so they can move back to there run and gun offense, and Money problems solved (with Wally). We get more bigs and a dominator in Shaq. Think about it. Andy and Ben worked really well together when they were starting together. Well they would be the backups! You would start with Shaq and Z then bring them in. Plus JJ and Lopez as a third rotation! That would be sick. Now we would have to sign a shooter for Sasha. Or maybe trade snow for a couple of young shooters. Maybe Anthony Morrow and Corey Maggette for Snow, Kinsey and 2010 first round. GS unloads Maggete's contract get a solid backup in kinsey and 12 million in expiring contracts with Snow. This probably won't happen but the trades work and worse trades have been made. And our team is relatively the same. At least the core is.

PG: Mo Williams/Boobie/West
SG: West/Morrow/Boobie
SF: James/Maggette
and either
PF: Shaq/Wallace/Hickson
C: Z/Andy/Lopez
or
PF: Wallace/Andy/Hickson
C: Z/Shaq/Lopez

Workable, a little hectic, but i believe it equals championship.
"Shaqtastic. 24 points." "Where'd you get so many Q's?" (With a stern scary look) "Don't worry about it..."

Snow and Wally for Shaq works but is Gilbert going to be able to pay Shaq 21 mil next season. That would also put the Cavs back in the luxury tax again for another year.

Shaq is definitely not cheap in terms of money.. Like mg said, it would put us in the luxury tax for another year. And please veto the Maggette trade idea. That is awful.
