Let me introduce you to yesterday's "Who is worth less than Beno?" thread on the Trade Board.

If the Kings get to dump Beno's long deal, they better be giving up something huge, like an unprotected pick.

I actually thought about that before posting, but I'm not sure what their pick(s) status is. A first rounder should probably be coming to the Wolves if they give up all expirings for Moore/Udrih.
That thread is classic fanboy BS, IMO. Beno's "ridiculous" deal ends with a $7.8 million player option. The Knicks are paying more for that to each of the following players this year: Curry, Cat Mobley, Quentin Richardson and Malik Rose. Jerome James come in at $6.2 million.
Those guys are worthless. Udrih is 26, and has never played with someone who draws the attention Jefferson does when healthy. He's worth the risk to balance the roster and provide support for the Wolves key guys down the stretch of this season (Love and Foye.)

Beno is the Jerome James of point guards: a big contract year push followed by jawdropping awfulness.
Zach Randolph>Frye. Kevin Durant > Oden. Random guy off street> Pritchard.

Acquiring Beno is a big giant no.

For 13 mpg, sure. Don't think that really translates.

beno might be really good if you brainwashed him into believing that every year is a contract year.

Uh huh. Udrih career stats:

Totals 324 108 19.5 3.0-6.7 .444 0.6-1.7 .355 1.1-1.4 .820 0.6 0.1 1.4 1.5 0.4 1.4 1.8 2.7 7.7
Looks like three years of backup duty to me. Then a year in Sacto, first time as a starter. Now this year, where he's playing fewer minutes for a less-talented team. FG % is the same, APG the same. I think the James comparison is bit overblown.

Re: Potential Trade Between Kings/Wolves?
I've only watched Beno play a couple times, but the book on him is that he never got off the bench in SA because of his refusal to play defense. Spurs are sticklers for that. He ended up on the Kings and started at PG because they didn't even have a starting PG. He put up some offensive numbers, got a contract, and SAC has regretted the deal, particularly its length, ever since.
Maybe he's better than I heard, and like SAC, there is certainly opportunity at the PG spot. However, with the length and size of that contract, I'd want to be sure he was the right guy, and right now, I'm not convinced, even at this price.

Usually I'm on board with TTF, but have to disagree as I really don't want Beno, especially in that deal. Just reminds me of the Mike James scenario.
