Feb 17th: Hawks at Lakers!

Post#1 » by ATL DirtyBird » Sun Feb 15, 2009 6:59 pm

Lets start it early bc this is such a huge game. Its good that this is the first game on the circus trip, and this is a big test. I think we can win but I dont think we will. Marvin and Josh will have to step up both offensively and defensively bc Kobe will lock down Joe most likely, and Al will have to play great post defense against Pau. Should be a good game and I hope everyone comes to play. LETS GO HAWKS!

Flip will be out the next two games for a family emergency.

Time for Acie to step up.

Barring injuries, this is probably Acie's last chance to prove he belongs in the rotation this season. I hope he makes due on his opportunity.

If Acie's given a chance I hope he steps up. No guarantee that Woodson will play him even with Flip out. I'm hoping Joe comes out with a big game to make up for a less than wonderful All-Star weekend. Also hoping that a few days of R&R help everyone be back at full health although it is more likely that it will just make them rusty.

Well, the thing with Acie's proving to be in the rotation is useless because we all know once Murray gets back, everything will revert to what it was before.

Anyway, hopefully Acie will bring it in this game and the next. He played well when he's gotten 20 min+/game.

I disagree. If Acie plays a couple of good, consistent games then I think he will certainly see increased minutes. The problem is it's going to be hard to supplant Flip in the rotation with the way he is playing.

For those of you outside the Atlanta area, this game is slated to be the NBA TV Tuesday night game (Lakers always win the fan vote when they play on Tuesday).

Also Lakers are 8.5 favorites (9 if you shop around) with 213.5 or 214 being the o/u.

I'm going with the under.

It's games like these that remind me how much we need a real Center. Horford is the man, but he needs a seven footer to have his back against frontcourts with size.

This wouldn't even be a contest if Bynum was playing. Bring on CAMBY!!!!!!

amen to bringing in a 7 footer. If we want to compete in the playoffs we need more height!!!!!!!!

Under is looking good for me. Hawks not looking so good. We're going to lose by 20 if we keep rebounding like a bunch of girls.

Yeah....we need a big.

Horford's solid but he's naturally a 4. If we could bring in someone like Camby, that would makes us better in the short term/playoffs.

I'd say Marvin + Zaza could get Camby.

Let's ee what the Hawks will do.....

There's no way we'll make a trade for someone with a big contract. We're losing tons of money, while playing far better than we were supposed to play this year. We're probably the least likely team in the league to make a big trade right now.
