KG 4th/5th year

Post#1 » by BillTheGOAT » Sat Feb 14, 2009 10:28 am

Should trade Garnett in the last two years of his contract for Al Jefferson, we save 13 million the first two and have Al Jefferson for an additional year, hopefully by that time KG would have have won a couple of rings with Boston and retires in Minnesota and we have Al Jefferson who is the future and he can improve defensively and will become an all star next year.

And by doing this we might keep Pierce and Allen a few more years with the team with Allen giving up alot of money and improving our bench, I also like us to sign Semih Erden next season and dump players like POB, I would say dump a few more players but powe, davis are very cheap and giddens ,walker likewise, eddie house should not resign and we should either keep scal until his expires and sign him for less or trade him with tony, if not dump pruitt and tony.

Sounds like a great trade for both teams!

I like the enthusiasm !

Lets see if Al come back from the ACL first, and then try to figure out a way to make Minni give that great deal.

I dont think they will be as accommodating the second time round..

Haha. It'd be nice, but I don't think that it would go over so well in Minnesota.

just in case this happened could KG come back to Boston in 2013 at 37 and sign for vet minimum ? we could have him and Big Al on the same team.

Unfortunately, Wyc et al. can only own one team at a time, and Danny can only GM one team at a time.

Seriously? Super-durable KG who also plays great D for Al who is always injured and couldn't guard David Stern? No thanks...

how about something more realistic, involving the whole Celtic's championship window deal. I've heard about the idea of the C's trading Ray Allen, or at least exploring the option when his contract is up next year, but what about KG? I have a feeling Pierce will sign an extension and retire a Celtic, but would we exploring options to trade KG when he is expiring? This team needs to rebuild at some point and its better to get a head start on the process rather than just have all the guys get old at once and no value.

Damn. We get one championship and you guys are already looking to rebuild. Don't you remember the last 20 year rebuilding program? lets see what the big 3 can do in the spring before trying to break them up.

Who will we rebuild with? Who out there would be such a slam dunk that it's better than an old but still effective KG and Ray? Aren't we currently STILL TRYING TO WIN titles??

What a bunch of morons! Head start to what? Losing? Winning titles don't do it for you? These are the same retards who would fill the roster with a bunch of 20-year old High-jumpers and hope for planets to line up.

It's not easy to have a chance to compete for a championship. We've rebuilt for 20+ years and got no where close until last year. What makes you idiots think we'll be more successful this time around? In fact, there are more teams in the league than there were in the 80s, so the probability tells us that we'll have an even longer wait.

I rather win 1 more title and have 2 extra years of rebuilding than forego the extra title for a chance to rebuild towards mediocrity. Because unless we have Lebron, D-Howard, Chris Paul or something close, we're not getting near the title in the next 5~10 years.

tombattor, I see we're in agreement here! Seriously, we'll compete for another 2-3 years and people want to blow it up and rebuild NOW? I'd hate to see what they would have done during the years 1957-1969 or 1979-1988!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
