Nah Larry is a good guy. He's definitely getting back to his "normal" down in Charlotte. Anyone would have gone wacko momentarily if we were in the situation he was in with the Knicks.

According to Chad Ford, it's "cooled considerably"... Not necessarily dead tho. A lot could change between now and tomorrow.

Re: Vince Carter trades
down the stretch they go...
I never think one way or another w. all these trade specs, rumors and reports of insider talk...w/ how active the Nets have been over the last several years plus...you wait and see...I think Thorn and Kiki will push the envelope to get someone even in a financial deal...as much as it looks like they're willing to ship Vince, I think they're more curious of what they can get even in a financial trade...like I said they have him dangling out there, trying to catch the BEST deal, I'm not sold that we're really looking to dump him until its confirmed via trade...who knows, I'm hoping we're pushing for Rudy...we can dump him elsewhere...if not now later, summer, ect...I think we want some sort of chip in return and it starts and ends w. Rudy for me...
dont be so convinced that Vince's ship has sailed...as Chad has informed...

Re: Vince Carter trades
I think this was trade talks as usual close to the deadline with the media overhyping the hell out of everything because Amare and Bosh have been basically taken off the table and the papers and ESPN need something to spin to keep their jobs besides the A Rod roid intervention.
Make sure to keep an eye on DNPs tonight, league wide, but especially for NJ, PDX and Milwaukee.

Re: Vince Carter trades
Chad Ford, quoting a single source, says the Nets were so desperate to trade Vince Carter at the deadline they offered the Blazers both the 2010 Mavs and 2011 Warriors pick just to have Portland take him off their hands. “The Blazers, however, turned them down,” reports Ford. Carter, with his $37.1 million guaranteed after this year, is the most likely big name player to be dealt this summer, Ford adds.
What do you guys think about this? Legit or BS?

Re: Vince Carter trades
I say legit but they're leaving info out. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL WE OFFERED THAT WITHOUT DEMANDING RUDY OR BATUM OR BAYLESS. You can guarantee that. Vince + 2010 Mavs + 2011 Warrior for Raef + Fry + Outlaw is basically as bad as the deal the landed us Vince. What I will assume is that, yes we wanted to move Vince badly for financial reasons, but we probably upped the offer to that level because we desperately wanted someone on their roster and felt that was the only way we could get them.
Like always, when there is only one source, there is usually ONE SIDE of the situation. Thorn is not an idiot. Ask any other GM in the league and they'll tell you, that you can't pull the wool over his eyes. As much as I love the Trailblazers, I pray they don't self implode like Chicago did when all their guys are due for extensions. Vince's contract, yes it's expesive, had a team option THE EXACT YEAR they would start to need the cash to extend important players. He'd be great playing along their young guys. It came down to their GM hoping to fleece us with Raef's contract and what you consider the "garbage players" on their team. Obviously I'm a little bitter because I felt the teams could have found a deal and it would help both teams, NOT because I wanted Vince out. I didn't want him to go in the first place really. Now, Portland won't have the cash this summer to sign a guy that can put up the stats Vince could, so I wish them the best.
We'll see what both teams do this summer.
