I'll bite...I knew we were showcasing him for something. Based on his production and level of play, I'd say we're getting a steal, lol.

Hopefully this in some way helps us land Kirk without giving up Odom

Well this opens a roster spot maybe the Lakers are looking at another trade in the next 24 hrs or they expect someone to be waived soon and they expect to pick him up. Or its just a way for the Lakers to get more picks in the future because why would you trade an expiring contract.

This trade makes no sense. Why are we giving Memphis an expiring contract and cash for a 2013 second rounder? We could have traded Fisher with Mihm and Mbenga's expirings for Kirk Hinrich.

I think the deal was done for luxury tax purposes. This is the third one we've done this season.

the only way we trade fisher is if he goes to the clippers.

This means 1 of 2 things

1. The Lakers get more Cap space to re-sign LO & Ariza/They must trust Mbenga at C or Use Odom/Powell as C's and run small.

2. They opened up a roster spot so that means a trade tomorrow for a back up big. Or a veteran signing later on down the road.

Pointless. Mihm is an expiring contract. This most likely means that we're keeping a spot open for some vet who might get waived down the road.

We save money because we don't have to pay Chris for the rest of the year. Approx 1 million left to pay him this year

What about signing a waived player.
Someone like Sam Cassell if he is waived.

1. Chris Mihm is expiring, how can you get more cap space next season?
2. Maybe this.... but I am guessing either we just want to miss.

Where is that practice interview of that 2013 pick. hehe

To help avoid paying the Luxury Tax, it's purely a money saving deal. Dr. Buss has always been good in limiting his Luxury Tax payments. He tries to stay away from it, smartly I might add.

let me re-phrase. Not cap space but Dr. Buss does'nt have to pay his salary for the rest of the year.

my mistake
