John Salmons appreciation thread

Post#1 » by KM44 » Wed Feb 18, 2009 11:34 pm

Well, it's been quite the day. I just wanted to get a thread going about Mr. Salmons, and how I appreciate what he has done while in Sacramento. When we signed him, it seemed like he was just another "There's no one else out there, might as well get this guy" kind of deal, but he proved to be a great role player last year, and this year he was our best scorer when Martin went down.

John, I truly hope that everything works out for the best in your life, and I'm sorry you were treated poorly near the end of your stay with Sacramento (trade speculation out the wa-zoo). You are a trooper, and although your stay in sac-to was short, you will be missed.

I think John was undervalued over the last year or so. I'll miss ya Johnny boy.

An Ode to Salmons:

John was my main reason for watching the Kings. He showed up every night and tried his best. At least he will have a good chance of getting to playoffs. Another bad move by the Kings.

Yeah you scored points. Congrats. Thought those stats would fool someone into thinking you are a complete player.

I am a huge Salmons fan but he was by far the hardest working King even when they sucked whcih showed great character. He will be missed.

We had to make the trade since John was a scoring SF when we need a defensive and rebounding SF since Hawes is only an average rebounder. This was a very good trade.

John will continue to work as hard as he did for us.

I don't really want to write an essay but let me keep it nice and sweet. Thanks for your hard work Salmons. Your effort and constant improvement was appreciated from us. I will always remember the great games you had with us. Triple Double against Iverson, GW against Mavs/Warriors and etc..Good luck Salmons.

You were the best player on the Kings this season and deserved better than being traded to Chicago for trash....good luck.

Thanks John for the 2 years and the half (though it seemed very short). I will always remember you everytime I see Wesley Snipes.

Bye bye Jonathon. May God be with you and show you the way in Chicago.

I bet God is very dissappointed in this trade, Petrie better seek forgiveness.

Thanks John for your in the face defense agaisnt the finest players in the world. No one grabs a rebound, drives down the court and scores any better than you.

I loved John. He played some great great defense. I think he would really shine on a good team as a lockdown defender and providing some timely offense. Unfortunately the kings are not good, so it didnt work out.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.
