Let's hope that Joey doesn't get traded

but gets bought out, instead.

Yeah except my guess is that they didn't exactly rescind the deal because Chandler had a bad ankle.

That's my hope. The Celtics now have a chance of adding two players (Joe Smith and Stephon Marbury) without making trades.

I still, however, would prefer Raja Bell over Marbury.

so does this mean N.O. unloads another contract? Peja for Wally perhaps.... seems like Ferry would love that.

There's no guarantee that he'd sign with the Celtics though.

I don't know what type of salaries Minnesota has but they should push hard for Chandler and rest him the year. He is the perfect fit there imo.

Seriously though, I wonder if Ainge tries to swing a deal. Didn't he say on EEI that they tried for Joe.

How good is Joe Smith? What kind of talent does he have that could help the Celtics?

A healthy Chandler next to a healthy Big Al would be quite PF/C combo

What are you asking? Joe Smith is a former #1 pick who has been a 20/10 guy. Now he is still 6'10" and old and capable of roughly half of that. But the thing I like him is that he can score from anywhere and just does not turn the ball over.

I think I read somewhere that Joe liked it in OKC and did not want to get bought out. This actually could be bad news for us.

Sounds like just the player we need off the bench when we need offense, but can he play defense? I am hoping the Celtics will add a center/power forward who can play tough defense against teams like the Cavs and Lakers.

No, he can't play defense as a specialty, but he is 6'10" so he is at least tall. He is a decent defender at the PF spot but no, I can't really take it any further than that.

I would not pay a ton of attention to the "I like it in OKC and don't want a buyout." Joe Smith is a good guy and a smart guy, he was probably already told that they will take care of him if he takes care of them.

Sounds like OKC has a better offer on the table from another team and the way out of it was Chandler health. This doesn't mean that Joe Smith is coming to Boston. But from what I've hear Joe Smith really wants to come to Boston. The only way for that to happen now has to be via a trade because by all accounts Marbury will be a Celtic by early next week.

I think we could cut someone to add Joe Smith and Stephon Marbury.

Per the Hornets board, Chandler lit the bridge on fire on the way of NO and laid into management and gave Shinn (who is a total ****) the bird. Just a FWIW but damn that is just going to spread some unity.

Tomorrow is going to be crazy.
