Thabo Sefolosha to Thunder?

Post#1 » by BadMojo » Thu Feb 19, 2009 9:13 pm

According to some reports.

There is the topic on the Bulls board and the links should be on that page.

Looks like it is for either the Suns or Nuggets 1st Round pick. Whichever is lower.

As a Bulls fan, I've always thought Thabo would be a good player with lots of PT. Good on the ball defender, usually a high basketball IQ, can be a streaky shooter but is definitely not a chucker. Not really horrible in any one area, but not really great in any one area.

I agree with what UM said.

His minutes have always been eratic on the Bulls. I'd like to see what he can do with a more stable role.

One thing I will add is that he will cause no problems at all. He is a guy that tries do what he can and what the coaches ask. He will not cause any problems in the OKC lockerroom. Thabo doesn't run his mouth and is a good guy to have.

As another Bulls fan, I hope he finds a spot there.

The lower of the Spurs or Nuggets pick in this year's draft is what I've heard...

Thabo's got some skills. If they're spending a 1st, maybe they feel that he can be the starting 2 in this system? I could see him playing in a similar manner to Desmond, and that worked out pretty well.

I would assume that this ends the Kyle Weaver starting era... Thabo is a lot more ready to be an NBA starter, and I maintain that they were just starting Weaver to get him some experience for when they need him to play a role off of the bench in a year or so.

This makes things at the deadline a little bit brighter after the Chandler cancellation...

I don't believe that OKC is under the cap, nor do they have any trade exceptions... so wouldn't we have to send some kind of salary to the Bulls??? Maybe I'm just missing something...

Pretty good move for the Thunder. At least Thabo will get some PT at the SG spot and show what he can do. Hopefully he will take advantage of the opportunity he has now and make the best of it.

Great pickup IMO. Just too bad Chandler wasn't here as well. That would be a solid starting 5.

So there are 16 players now. As a Celtics fan, I hope this means Joe Smith is being bought out.

Very nice.

I believe they have a small trade exception from Delonte West of 1.8mil

Thabo makes 1.9mil

I really like this trade once Salmons went to the Bulls I was wondering what guard they would be willing to give up. And honestly Thabo is the only one I would want other than Rose/Salmons.

Nice way to use the trade exception Presti (if that's what he used)

I think Thabo is a very nice player to put next to Westbrook, Green and Durant. Not a guy that expects the ball a ton is willing to play "D" and will knock down the open shot.

He's kind of a rich man's version of Kyle Weaver.

Now they just need Thabeet and hello next season.

I'd say Joe Smith just got waived too

A big possibility now. Smith to either Boston or Cleveland.

Hes a very nice player, and a good guy as well. Wont complain and will play hard whenever he is on the court.

If he works on his jumpshot he will turn out quite good..

This puts the Thunder over 15 players.

I bet they cut either Joe Smith, Chucky Atkins or Malik Rose.

I'm kind of thinking it will be Smith. This is because Joe still has some skills and could really help out a team looking to win it all. Smith knows it, and I would guess, has politely let the Thunder know this. Rose, on the other hand, is basically just biding his time until retirement at the end of the year. I think Rose would be completely content getting to be part of helping out so many young players, whereas Smith wouldn't cause trouble, but he wouldn't necessarily be happy.

Bulls fan, Thabo is great guy. you'll love having him on your team. OKC is definitely making the right moves in building a nice young core. i'll be coming by on occasion to see what you guys think about him.

If they waive Joe Smith then say the Cavs pick him up for a million dollars for the end of the season that's a million dollars the Thunder no longer owe him. So the Thunder could also save some money if another team picks him up which is likely or they could just buy him out.

Wow, that's kind of a surprise to me... Figured he wasn't worthless to the point that they would just dump him. Well, that's gotta help cement his place as a pretty sizable bust.

I think you will enjoy having Thabo on your team. He is solid and likable and very smart. He does Sudoku puzzles. I do, too. This made me like him more.

You guys will like Thabo. Basically the only Bull I'm sad to see go. Awesome defender (We had him on Wade in the playoffs a few years ago and he shut him down) and he's a pretty flashy passer. He's a very good guy too.

Well let's see Wally Walkers last three drafts all gone. Swifts not yet but he will be soon.

I hate you Wally Walker.
