sorry, like i said when i stated i was stepping back, i got a busy schedule coming up. i'm taking my masters capstone and time is hard to come by after work.

about the veto, i was sent two or three vetoes regarding the dirk/lewis trade. i would have acted on it but the trade was never accepted by the other team as far as i could see.

about al harrington, since skorff has taken upon himself to keep the game going and he's doing a great job at it, i wouldn't want to come in and start making any decisions. this FA part, which i knew would be really involved, is something i didn't think i'd have time for.

some things that i think i can still do is vetoes though, since i don't know a better way to do them then to have someone who doesn't control a team decide them.

I think I am taking over the very weak Philly franchise. Everything is available because I am not sure which way I want to take this team! Email offers to jbail10@verizon.net

Exactly how does this work and are years left important or just current contract?

you can rebuild with young talent or you can go for winning a championship, the game will be graded in several ways for the best rebuild, best contender etc...

for trades its just the current salary of the year, which right now will be for the 2009/2010 season since we just did the 2009 draft.

Philly is actively looking to move Lou Williams (drafted Curry to replace), Willie Green and Reggie Evens. Plus has put Iguodala on the block hoping to get more of a tradional SG. I am looking for a starting quality SG, plus depth at both SG and SF, plus would be interested in a 3 pt shooter!

Plus I would like to open up a few roster spots for FA period

The Sixers and Nuggets have agreed upon a blockbuster deal!

Denver trades M.Redd (17.04) and R.Davis (2.3) total $19.34 mil

Philly trades Iguodala (12.2), R.Hibbert (1.575), and R.Evens (4.96) total $18.735 mil

18 x 1.25=22.5>19.35 Math Works

Reason: The Nuggets loved having Michael Redd on the squad, but felt like Iguodala's youth and unselfish play would complement a highpowered offense run by Baron Davis. This deal also helps us on D with the addition of Roy Hibbert and Reggie Evans.

Philly also agrees with this deal, we feal that by adding a true SG would really help spread the coart and benifit the low post game of E.Brand. We hate to lose a young athletic talent in AI, but think this move will benifit both clubs style of play.

The Magic are excited to add someone of Dirks caliber to our team. While we'll miss Rashard Lewis and the experienced vet presence of Mcdyess, we feel Dirk is the perfect compliment to Dwight. We wish Rashard Lewis, Antonio Mcdyess all the best in Houston.

posting on behalf of the 3 vetoes i received, and now that the trade has been accepted...

the lewis/dirk trade is vetoed. dirk nowitzki is one of the elite players in the league. lewis, while good, is a borderline all-star with a pretty unattractive contract. this trade simply compromises the competitive nature of the league, where legit superstars shouldn't be so easy to acquire.

Take Two

The Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets have decided to rethink their deal

Orlando will send

Caron Butler (9,780,970)
Troy Murphy (10,126,984)
Rights to Lester Hudson

Totals 19,907,954

in exchange for

Dirk Nowitzki (18,077,904 )
Joey Dorsey (816,500)
Total: 18,894,404

Numbers work

The Magic are excited to add someone of Dirks caliber to our team. While we'll miss the tough defensive presence and offensive firepower that Caron Butler brings (20, 6, 4) , and the tremendous rebounding that Murphy gives us(12 PPG and 11RPG shooting 43% from 3) , we couldn't pass up this deal.

The wizards and mavericks have come to an agreement

the wizards send:
tim thomas $6,466,600
2010 Memphis (top 14 protected in 2010, top 14 protected in 2011, top 14 protected in 2012, and top 12 protected in the 2013 Draft). If not conveyed by the 2013 draft, then Memphis' own 2013 2nd round pick and cash ).

The Mavericks don't send any thing as they have the cap room to take on the salary.

Dallas accepts. We have a bunch of cap room and with only one FA target in mind, we can afford to take on his salary. Although it is protected, it is a 1st that could be very handy for us.

The Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers have come to a trade agreement.

Los Angeles Clippers Send:
Chris Kaman $10,400,000
Mike Taylor $736,420
Total outgoing: $11,136,420

Philadelphia Send:
Andris Biedrins $9,000,000
Lous Williams $4,972,500
Total outgoing: $13,972,500

Math works as $11,136,420 * 1.25 + 100,000 = $14,020,525 > $13,972,500

Clippers accept. Although it hurts to take on Williams' bad contract that sticks out like a sore thumb, we thought Biedrins fits better in our system and that having gunners like Dunleavy, Thornton, Villanueva and Diaw will only take away Kaman's touches and we will not be using his offensive game properly.

Philly also accepts this deal. We are sad to lose Beidrins, but with our new addition of Michael Redd we have decided to become more of a half court team. The addition of Kaman fits much better and his low post game should thrive being reunited with good pal Elton Brand. This deal also gave us alot of future cap space.

The Spurs, Knicks and Nuggets have agreed to a deal.

Denver trades:
Eric Dampier $12,115,500

receives:
Dan Gadzuric $6,745,000
Corey Maggette 8,275,862

Knicks trade:
Thabo Sefalosha $2,759,627
Dan Gadzuric $6,745,000

receive:
Fabrico Oberto $3,600,000
Tyler Hansbrough (minimum)

Spurs trade:
Corey Maggette $8,275,862
Tyler Hansbrough minimum
Fabricio Oberto $3,600,000

receive:
Eric Dampier $12,115,500
Thabo Sefalosha $2,759,627

The Knicks accept this deal because it saves us a ton of money next season plus we get a solid young big man in Hansbrough to play the role of David Lee on our team.

The Spurs like this deal because they did not feel Maggette worked well with this team. This deal saves them a ton of money and allows Michael Beasley to develop unencumbered by a ball hog. Dampier also represents a huge upgrade at center while it is hoped that Thabo Sefalosha will become Bruce Bowen's long term replacement as a defensive stopper.

Nuggets accept. We are thrilled to have a player of corey maggette's caliber come onto the squad at the cost of aging expiring center and a bad contract. While Maggette's contract is "robust" to say the least, the talent gaps makes this too good to pass up.

there was a veto request for the clippers/sixers deal involving andris biedrins and chris kaman. with two young centers, there doesn't seem to be a big enough disparity to solicit a veto.

Philly is actively looking for a backup Center and is offering up Willie Green (3.682 and 3.976), Rickey Davis (2.3 expiring) and/or Jason Smith (1.419 and TO for 2.188) plus draft picks
